01732 759725 6 BULLETIN BULLETIN Nick Haley Recognition for Little Big Tech Little Big Tech has become the first MSP in the country to be independently verified across both its security controls and its service operations, earning the new Assurix trustmark. Assurix is a UK trustmark awarded to MSPs that can prove their security and operational controls are working continuously, giving SMEs an independent way to verify their provider. The company chose to put itself through a process designed to give its clients something the MSP industry has never had – continuous, externally verified proof that what an MSP says it does is what it actually does, day to day. The Assurix assessment requires an MSP to pass all 64 controls covering both security maturity and operational maturity, with the status suspended publicly if standards slip. Founder Mit Patel, a former MSP managing director, designed the scheme to close the gap between what MSPs claim and what they can prove. Nick Haley, Founder and Managing Director of Little Big Tech said: “Our clients trust us with their entire security operation. They deserve more than our word that it’s working. They deserve independent proof. We chose to be first because this is the bar every MSP should be held to. Our clients now have something no other UK SME has, a continuous, externally verified signal that their MSP’s controls are working.” www.littlebigtech.co.uk CBS named IT Solutions Specialist of the Year CBS has been named IT Solutions Specialist of the Year 2026/27 at the Yorkshire Prestige Awards. The Yorkshire Prestige Awards celebrate businesses that demonstrate excellence in their field, with winners selected based on a combination of publicly available information, including customer reviews, testimonials, and overall market presence. This latest recognition marks the second time the company has received the award. Over the past few years, CBS has continued to build on its reputation as a trusted technology partner, supporting customers in the region with tailored IT solutions, managed print services, telecoms and ongoing support. The award recognises not only its technical capability, but also the strength of its customer relationships and ability to adapt and evolve. Managing Director John Green said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award again. Winning it once was a real achievement, but to be recognised a second time says a lot about the consistency of our growth, the dedication of our team and the work they put in day in, day out.” www.commercebusinesssystems.co.uk Award win for Tech4 Office Equipment Congratulations to Tech4 Office Equipment who won the Business Services award at the North West Family Business Awards 2026. Client impact reports Agilico Zero has launched a brand new report which shows clients their individual environmental impact. The Agilico Zero Impact Report highlights the measurable environmental benefits of choosing Agilico Zero remanufactured multifunctional devices. Tailored to each client, the report highlights how much carbon can be avoided and how much energy can be saved, giving a detailed view of the impact the print environment is making, based on each organisation’s specific usage. Agilico currently supports more than 10,000 organisations across the UK, helping improve operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact through a combination of workplace technology and expertise. Since the launch of its circular technology programme – three years ago, Agilico has tracked and reported on the environmental impact of all its remanufactured devices, which means the data is grounded in real performance and not estimates. www.agilico.co.uk MFD Solutions acquires WOC MFD Solutions has strengthened its position in the managed print and document solutions market with the acquisition of World of Colour (WOC). Service Operations Manager Alex Bailes has joined the MFD Solutions team to ensure continuity and a smooth integration for existing WOC customers. Following the acquisition, customers will benefit from access to MFD Solutions’ dedicated remote-based service desk, enhanced support infrastructure and wider technical resources, and more competitive pricing through the company’s expanded network. Ramon Zanders, Group CEO at TSS said: “We are very pleased to welcome Keypoint Intelligence to TSS. In TSS, we found a long-term partner that understands the value of our people, our brand, and the markets we serve. “We remain Keypoint Intelligence, with the same customer focus and industry commitment, now supported by the knowledge and experience of TSS and their broad network of incredible businesses.” www.keypointintelligence.com Strategic alliance The Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA) and Print Mastermind have founded a new strategic alliance with the aim of strengthening skills, connection and long-term growth across their respective memberships and the UK print industry. The collaboration brings together two organisations with a shared ambition, to support print businesses in adapting, growing, and delivering greater value in an increasingly complex, multi-channel communications landscape. Through the collaboration, both communities will benefit from enhanced access to insight, training, networking opportunities, and initiatives designed to strengthen capability across the sector. By aligning their respective strengths – the IPIA’s advocacy, representation, and industry connectivity, alongside Print Mastermind’s focus on coaching, commercial development, and peer-to-peer learning – the alliance is positioned to deliver meaningful, practical value to members of both organisations. Alasdair Browne, Chair of the IPIA said: “Alliances like this are essential to the long-term health of our industry. By bringing together complementary expertise and communities, we can create a stronger, more connected ecosystem that supports innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to helping print businesses navigate change and unlock new opportunities.” https://ipia.org.uk KOcycle wins King’s Award for Enterprise KOcycle has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainability, strengthening its position as a key partner for the UK channel as ESG requirements move up the customer agenda. The B Corp-certified IT lifecycle and asset disposition specialist is one of just 185 organisations recognised in 2026 with the award, acknowledging its zero landfill commitment and digital inclusion initiative, KODI. The recognition builds on KOcycle’s existing profile in the UK channel, including previous award successes. This comes as partners look to differentiate through value-added services rather than product alone. As organisations face increasing pressure to meet environmental targets and demonstrate responsible IT practices, resellers are being asked to go beyond traditional supply models. KOcycle’s services – spanning reuse, refurbishment and secure disposal – are designed to help partners embed circular economy principles into their offerings, enabling customers to reduce both environmental impact and total cost of ownership. KOcycle’s approach combines refurbishment and remarketing with materiallevel recycling, supporting both sustainability goals and long-term resource availability. Oli Mason, Founder and Managing Director at KOcycle, said: “This award is recognition of the work the team has put in over the past few years, but it’s also a signal to our partners. Sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’. It’s becoming a core part of how customers evaluate technology decisions, and partners have a real opportunity to lead that conversation.” https://kocycle.com Oli Mason Alasdair Browne Anthony Sci

01732 759725 14 BULLETIN GenAI protection Zyxel Networks has announced a new GenAI Protection solution designed to help SMBs and managed service providers safely adopt generative AI technologies. Combining enhanced firewall capabilities and a new cooperation with AI startup HEARTBOT AI Inc. (Heartbot AI), Zyxel Networks enables businesses to monitor, control and secure GenAI usage while maintaining productivity. As GenAI adoption accelerates across workplaces, many organisations are struggling to keep usage under control. A recent survey found that 44% of employees have used AI in ways that contravene company policies, highlighting the growing challenge of ’shadow AI’. Without proper oversight, businesses risk data leakage, security breaches and compliance violations. For network admins and business owners, preventing shadow AI is straightforward with Zyxel Networks’ USG FLEX H series firewalls. With enhanced application awareness and control, admins can easily manage how GenAI tools are accessed across the network. To further support secure adoption, the company has cooperated with Heartbot AI to offer AnyInsight.ai, a cloud-native AI Application platform that enables managed access to more than 20 leading GenAI LLMs, over 350 AI agents and connected applications. “Generative AI is transforming how businesses operate, but without proper safeguards, it can introduce significant risks,” said Ken Tsai, President of Zyxel Networks. “Our GenAI Protection solution empowers SMBs and MSPs to embrace AI with confidence by providing the visibility, control and protection needed to prevent data loss and ensure responsible usage.” AnyInsight.ai is available alongside Zyxel Networks’ firewall solutions as an independent licensed service, offering flexibility for organisations that require additional layers of control. www.zyxel.com Advanced security certification Nebula Global Services has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to protecting customer data and delivering secure, resilient services. 01732 759725 16 BULLETIN : PEOPLE Epson restructures business print and scan division Epson has brought together three of its key UK and Ireland business units, managed print, IT, and scan, into a single consolidated business print and scan division headed up by Nick Taylor. Taylor said the new division reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to the channel and its ambition to drive growth across print, scan and IT reseller markets. As part of the restructure Nicola Williams has assumed responsibility for channel sales, partner relationships, and the day-to-day running of the channel business across the UK and Ireland. The goal of the newly created division is to expand MPS and scan sales into a wider breadth of partners to address the increasing requirements of both public and private sector organisations, looking to procure the most environmentally conscious solutions. The scan division, managed by Lisa Woodman, also sits within the new structure. Epson remains a market leader in scanner sales, typically ranking within the top three OEMs. Epson sees significant opportunity for further growth as organisations continue to digitise and move toward paper‑light workflows. Managed print remains one of Epson’s most strategically important global growth areas, and the company has grown significantly over the past five to six years. Bringing the three areas together is designed to strengthen collaboration, streamline resources and ensure more focused delivery of marketing campaigns and customer engagement. Epson has also created a pan-European technical sales team to support partners with specialist expertise, including customised applications for digital transformation projects. www.epson.co.uk Mike Brown to drive channel growth Brother UK has appointed Mike Brown as Business Manager – Specialist Print, further strengthening its channel sales capability as the business continues to expand its partner network and drive growth across the UK. It’s a simple shift, but it makes a big difference in how work gets done. An afternoon workout reset After a full day of meetings and emails, I really need a reset. For 45 minutes, I focus on something physical, and it helps me switch off completely. When the instructor says, “leave whatever happened during the day outside the room,” it genuinely calms me as it feels like permission to just let go. A good night’s sleep Sleep makes a bigger difference than anything else. When I’ve had a good night’s rest, I wake up with a clear head, feel more confident, and can focus better. Everything just flows more easily. On the other hand, if I haven’t slept well, it shows, especially on that first 9am call, when even putting thoughts into words feels harder. It’s not always perfect, but I really notice the difference. of rushing straight into it. I need that moment to start my day in a calm, positive way. OneNote on Windows My work involves multiple projects, a lot of event planning, and constant switching between tasks, so organisation is key and I don’t trust just my mind anymore. I use OneNote for everything – meeting notes, to-do lists, call agendas. It keeps everything in one place, so I don’t waste time searching for information or trying to remember details. I review it regularly, which helps me stay on top of things and avoid dropping the ball. Well-organised SharePoint folders I’ve also learned to really value well-organised SharePoint folders. When you’re planning something months in advance, like booking an event in January for September, keeping files structured is essential. It makes collaboration easier and ensures I can always find what I need, both in my own folders and in shared ones. Quick conversations over long emails Things move so much faster when you can just drop a quick message. It cuts through delays, avoids unnecessary meetings, and helps decisions happen quicker. Whether I’m at home or in the office, I need 10–15 minutes to sit down, eat, sip my coffee, check my phone and start scanning emails. 01732 759725 20 also created opportunity, pre‑COVID, customers simply went for a similar solution to what they had last time. But now the whole working model has changed. The volume of print has declined slightly and people are working from home more but they still need to print and scan whether that’s at home or in the office. The hybrid working model has completely transformed how we deliver managed print services. But actually, that works in Epson’s favour, we are very strong in A4 and we’re finding more and more customers want to move to A4 because compact and energy-efficient devices work better in smaller offices and indeed home offices. PITR: If you could speak directly to someone who inspired or challenged you most in your career, what would you want to say to them today? NT: I’d want to say, ‘thank you for taking the time to invest your energy and experience in me’. I was thinking about this recently. Sometimes you don’t fully value that kind of wisdom and insight until you’re a little bit older. Clive Webb, who used to be a sales manager at Canon was very experienced and he spent a lot of time with me. I think a lot of the things he was trying to teach me, I was probably a bit too inexperienced at the time to take on board. Looking back now, I still use many of the tools and principles that Clive instilled in me. I’ve been very lucky to work alongside some great managers during my career, all of which I have taken something from. PITR: What excites you most about working in print today? NT: The channel customers. I love working in the channel, I’ve done direct roles, but I really enjoy the channel. The best bit is working alongside partners to genuinely try and help them grow their business. They’ve always got great opportunities and they’ve always got challenges that go alongside those opportunities. The thing that excites me most is working in partnership with them to help them win, which ultimately helps us win at the same time. Our industry is all about people, building trust and credibility and doing what you say you’re going to do is critical. Building on those foundations has helped me develop great relationships across the channel. PITR: And what are the biggest frustrations or challenges? NT: The very slow decline of the traditional MPS market has created challenges for OEMs and channel partners, but it does also provide an opportunity for forward-thinking partners to understand more about what their customers are printing and help them achieve greater value from print, and what print can do to help their customer grow. PITR: What (or who) do you think has had the greatest impact in the sector in recent years? NT: COVID and hybrid working has completely changed the sector. Overall, it’s been a negative, obviously, for the world and the industry, but it has PrintIT Reseller (PITR): What was your first job in print? Nick Taylor (NT): My first job in print was at a Canon and Infotec dealer in Brighton. That was back in 2006. PITR: What led you to enter the sector? Did you choose print by design, or accident? NT: It definitely wasn’t by design! I wasn’t looking to get into print at all, I’d never done anything with print before. If I’m honest, I really wanted a job that came with a company car so I could get to football training. I got a little black, sporty Vauxhall Astra and I loved it. A couple of months in it though I really enjoyed the job, I had a great boss who was a good mentor to me when I was just starting out.
