WHAT’S NEW
what’s new
Light fantastic
New from Posiflex Technology,
the AURA-7600 is a front-
loading, 3in thermal point-
of-sale (POS) printer with
auto cutter. Ideal for retail,
catering and hospitality
applications, its compact
design leaves more
counter space available for
merchandise and promotions.
One interesting feature is the
optional LD-2000 ambient
lighting attachment, which fits
underneath the device and
can be programmed to display
different light effects.
Full speed ahead
Panasonic has added two A3 models to its flatbed
scanner range. Aimed at finance, hospitality,
healthcare and legal enterprises, the A3 colour
document scanners (KV-S7077 and KV-S7097) have
scan speeds of 75 and 95ppm respectively, even at
300 dpi. Both have a 200-sheet automatic document
feeder (ADF) and flatbed. Time-saving features include
one-touch pre-programmable settings for up to nine
jobs; double-feed detection; integration with remote
software; auto rescan; and preview modes.

Paper best for drying
Nine out of 10 people prefer paper
towels to jet air dryers for hand-drying in
public washrooms, claims the European
Tissue Symposium (ETS). At ISSA/
Interclean Amsterdam 2016, it analysed
the behaviour of 3,879 visitors to four
washrooms equipped with both paper
towels and jet air dryers. Faced with
a choice of drying methods, 90% of
the 2,474 men and 91% of the 1,405
women observed chose paper towels.
Canon’s next generation A3 colour MFP, the five-strong imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5500 series,
features a large, customisable touchscreen display and intuitive user interface that will be
standard on all future imageRUNNER
ADVANCE models. For device
management and cost control, a
Universal Login Manager provides user-
based authentication and the ability to
personalise access to MFP functions.
Additional security and cost controls are
provided by optional uniFLOW scanning
and output management software. Find

Big impact
The UK’s first Massivit 1800
large format 3D printer has
been sold by Papergraphics
to graphics company Stylo.
The Massivit 1800 is the only
3D printer capable of creating
bespoke 3D sculptures up to
1.8m high, 1.5m wide and
up to 1.2m deep. Its ability
to print up to one foot per
hour means that even large
scale objects take just a few
hours to produce, bringing
new opportunities for the
entertainment, events, retail
and signage industries to
produce attention-grabbing
large format 3D displays.
Studies suggest that 3D
advertising has five times
the stopping power and four
times the staying power of 2D
advertising.
Scanner workflows
To help customers implement productive scanning
workflows, Xerox is integrating Dokmee Capture
(Network Edition) into select Xerox DocuMate
Scanners. This time-saving software enables users
to separate scanning, quality control, indexing and
exporting processes into independent tasks that can
be performed simultaneously by different people. It
also enables users to export scanned or digital files
directly to the Xerox DocuShare 7 enterprise content
management platform, which itself has embedded
connectors to other ECM solutions. Dokmee Capture
(Network Edition) ships as standard with the Xerox
DocuMate DM4790, DM4799, DM4760, DM4830,
DM5460 and DM5445.
