Mailmark™was introduced into the
postal systems in February 2014 byRoyal
Mail.The lead that Frama has taken puts

Unique identity
RoyalMail is investing £70m in the
development and introductionof
Mailmark™ technology into theUK postal
market.The current town die is replaced
by a digital 2D barcodewhichwill be used
to trackmail items throughRoyalMail
sorting systems.
In addition, the ability to encode
information in theMailmark indiciawill
enable the postal operator to develop new
mailing products and data services. Royal
Mail plans to launch the first of these in
April.

This commitment gives users of stamps
and existing frankingmachines a strong
financial incentive toupgrade to the

Further savings can be achieved by
eliminating over-payment or surcharges
for under-payment. Mailmark™ franking
systems always apply the correct postage
basedon the service selected.
