How to manage disparate communication tools,
such as email, IM, phone, video, Sharepoint and
Google Docs, is one of the big challenges facing
today’s offce workers.
Now, social email provider harmonie.ie is
bringing a solution to the UK – already used by
800,000 people globally – that gathers everything
needed to collaborate in one place: your email
window.
Harmonie.ie for Sharepoint combines business
collaboration tools and social enterprise networks
into a sidebar within Microsoft Outlook or Lotus
Notes so that users can collaborate with colleagues
and external contacts from a single window
without having to switch between applications.
Harmonie.ie claims that as well as bringing
a social component to document creation, its
technology helps remove barriers to the adoption
of Microsoft SharePoint or Google Docs, typically
increasing end user SharePoint adoption from 30%
to as high as 80% in a few months.
Key productivity features include:
• the automatic upload of documents into
SharePoint or Google Docs from outgoing email
messages;
• drag-and-drop retrieval of SharePoint and Google
Docs documents that eliminates the need to go to
theWeb interface to open, edit or email a fle;
• an activity stream that makes it easy to track
documents and view document-related activities
from within the harmon.ie email sidebar;
• the ability to connect with colleagues from the
activity stream via unifed communications
(Lync/OCS, Lotus Sametime and Cisco UC),
removing the need to change windows to initiate
phone, chat, video or email discussions; and
• the ability to update enterprise social network
profles and status directly from email.
“Enterprises recognize that the way we work today
hampers effcient document authoring and editing,
and therefore overall business agility. Business users
working on a contract should be able to check the
status of a document draft, initiate a phone call, or
chat with the person editing the document from
one window,” said Yaacov Cohen, co-founder and
CEO of harmon.ie. “harmon.ie 3.0 brings all of these
processes into the email interface for improved
effciency and team interaction.”
harmon.ie for SharePoint 3.0 – Outlook Edition
supports Microsoft Offce 365 as well as other
Microsoft cloud offerings including Microsoft
SharePoint Online, hosted solutions for SharePoint
2010, Offce SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 and
Windows SharePoint Services (WSS).
harmon.ie for Google Docs is currently available
at no charge and can be downloaded from
