Uniprint has enhanced its
Infinity print management
solution with useful new
reporting and archiving
functions.
To enable users to be more
proactive in how they manage
printer deployments, Infinity 8.1
features a Statistics Module that
captures all information about
a print job, such as the user,
the application they are printing
from, how many pages are
output, whether they are B&W or
colour etc..
The second enhancement
is a print job archiving feature
that, when turned on, captures
all print jobs as PDFs and
stores them in a directory for
later analysis. At this stage,
functionality is limited: you can
search PDF Tags and Indexes,
but can’t yet apply rules to
automatically flag up certain
types of document.
However, Arron Fu, VP of
Software Development at
Uniprint, expects this to change.
“Our next release might have
a rule stating that if there is
a print job with VISA number
characteristics, say, it would
automatically be flagged and an
alert sent to an administrator,”
he said.
Konica Minolta has won the BLI A3 MFP Line of the Year Award
for the third year in a row.
BLI Managing Editor Daria Hoffman said: “What Konica Minolta
has achieved with a third consecutive A3 MFP Line of the Year Award
is nearly unprecedented. In the 26-year history of the award, Konica
Minolta is one of only two vendors to earn the award three years in a
row and it is the only vendor to do so in the past decade.”
Other BLI 2013 Line of the Year Award winners include Lexmark for
its Monochrome Printer/MFP Line; HP for its Colour Printer/MFP Line;
and Canon for its Document Imaging Solutions Line.

launched a new App, reinforcing its campaign to create a wide portfolio
of tools focused on making workflow easier.
Sharpdesk Mobile
, which is available free of charge from Apple’s App
Store and Google’s Play Store, wirelessly connects Smartphones and Tablet PCs
with the printing and scanning capabilities of Sharp’s MFP’s.
Sharpdesk Mobile
addresses three key requirements: printing, scanning
and sharing.
Printing
– users can print PDF, JPG and TIFF files from a Smartphone or
Tablet PC directly to any supported Sharp MFP.

directly to their mobile device.
Sharing
– once a document has been scanned to the Smartphone or Tablet

developed by our technology partners and others will be written in-house,” said
