01732 759725 40 WHAT'S NEW Focus On: What’s New Konica Minolta has unveiled the new bizhub i-Series, its next generation IoT-enabled multifunction device product line. Born from the company’s continuing ambition to create value for customers and driven by the desire to rethink the way multifunctional devices work for them, the i-Series is a smart technology hub that fully embraces the way businesses are evolving and sharpens their competitive edge. The stylish, contemporary design boasts an intuitive smartphone style user interface with a tiltable, floating 10” touchscreen panel, rounded edges, and LED status indicators. The interactive user experience provides ease-of-use through no wait times, vibration feedback and customisation. Conveniently, both the A3 and A4 models function in precisely the same way so users can be productive, regardless of the specific device. Olaf Lorenz, General Manager International Marketing Division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH said: “The launch of the new MFP range is a milestone in our long-term office printing strategy. Our goal in developing this range was to ensure these products built on success of their predecessors, so looking to what made previous generations so successful was very important. Both customer feedback and analyst’s assessments of Konica Minolta’s success in MFPs have identified that as well as being innovative we have also succeeded by addressing customers’ real-world needs.” www.konicaminolta.co.uk Lexmark launches new print solutions Lexmark has announced four new solutions designed to simplify business processes for its manufacturing customers. The solutions include: RFID Laser Printing which allows manufacturers to print, program and customise RFID labels and tags from a colour laser printer or MFP and GHS Label Printing, which enables organisations to print colour labels that comply with GHS standards easily, efficiently and with little waste, while obtaining a solution that meets the most stringent requirements for the labelling of international shipments of hazardous materials by sea. Other new launches include Supply Chain Document Optimisation which leverages the Lexmark Smart MFP platform and streamlines manual processes to help manufacturers gain visibility into supply chain logistics, consolidate devices, increase productivity and lower costs. And Lexmark SAP Print, which enables customers to tap into enhanced printing functionality of Lexmark printers and MFPs. As a member of the SAP Printer Vendor Program, Lexmark makes it easy to connect Lexmark printers and MFPs with SAP systems. Device types are developed by Lexmark using systems and procedures managed by SAP, ensuring device types are available for the legacy R/3 system and newer SAP releases. www.lexmark.co.uk Fast rotary cutter Toshiba TEC, has introduced a new high-speed rotary cutter option for its B-EX6T1 printers. Because it cuts labels on the fly and without interrupting the print process or the media feed, the B-EX206- R-QM-S cutter greatly increases printer throughput, making it an ideal choice for use in fast-paced logistics, manufacturing and retail environments. Maximum throughput with the new cutter option is eight inches per second, which in a typical application means that ten labels can be printed and cut in approximately three seconds, whereas a printer fitted with a conventional disc cutter would take around twelve seconds to complete the same task. These big time savings – four times as quick as a conventional cutter – enable substantial cost reductions and productivity gains to be achieved in high-volume applications. www.toshibatec.com IoT-enabled bizhub i-Series All-in-one cartridge colour printer Opening up greater opportunities for partners, Canon Europe has strengthened its third generation, 3rd edition platform, with the addition of an all-in-one cartridge-based A4 colour printer, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C475. James Pittick, Director of B2B Indirect Sales said: “Expanding our all-in-one cartridge proposition allows users to experience fast, quality colour print at speeds you’d traditionally expect from an A3 model, but with a more compact footprint, easy maintenance and a smaller investment. Opening up a larger opportunity for incremental sales, partners will be able to effortlessly incorporate these devices into their fleet and MPS offerings thanks to the consistency across the portfolio, particularly in terms of security, firmware and cloud connectivity.” www.canon.co.uk Aruba simplifies enterprise IoT adoption Aruba has launched two new offerings to help enterprise customers simplify the adoption of IoT. Aruba ClearPass Device Insight delivers a single pane of glass for device visibility employing automated device discovery, machine learning (ML) based fingerprinting and identification. Additionally, Aruba introduced the Aruba 530 and 550 Series access points, an extension to the industry’s most advanced family of 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) IoT-ready access points. Together, these solutions allow enterprises to remove IoT security and connectivity barriers, while decreasing associated operational costs and complexities. www.arubanetworks.com Continued...
