01732 759725 46 PRINTERS New inks for Océ VarioPrint i-series Canon has introduced new iQuarius MX inks for the Océ VarioPrint i-series sheet-fed inkjet presses. These third-generation inks have been specifically developed to meet the needs of customers working with offset coated papers for high quality graphic arts applications. The new Océ iQuarius MX inks enable application of higher ink coverages on many offset coated stocks, increasing the range of standard papers which can be used with the Océ VarioPrint i-series presses. The move extends the applications range of the technology to even more demanding applications, such as higher quality books, manuals and direct mail requiring the most vivid colour reproduction. The HP Latex R series brings unparalleled speed and quality to a wide range of rigid materials. Unlike UV printing technology, which creates a thick layer of ink that completely covers the material and requires time to dry, HP’s water-based Latex Inks preserve the look and feel of the media, and deliver odourless prints that are both safe for the environment and the printer operator. Tackling one of the industry’s most pervasive limitations in printing, HP’s White Latex Ink has an innovative system that recirculates the white ink to avoid settling. For the first time, White Latex Ink delivers glossy, high-quality ‘true white’ that doesn’t yellow over time like traditional UV-based white ink does. With this launch, Canon has boosted its mono print offering while also tackling three significant areas for its customers; security, productivity and control. The new models come equipped with a range of solutions for improving device authentication. From the built in Universal Login Manager to uniFLOW online cloud and uniFLOW on-premise server solutions, administrators can control access to the device, manage permissions and protect document security with Canon’s secure print functionality across multiple devices. Manufactured by HP Specialty Printing Systems using HP Thermal Inkjet Technology, the new HP 22mm Printhead which will be commercially available in the second half of 2018, can be easily integrated into OEM printing systems and configured to specific applications.
