Paper piles scrapped
Offce Depot is taking signifcant steps to reduce its
carbon footprint by rolling out a novel e-billing system,
by doing so the company will save enough paper every
month to tower above 15 double decker buses sitting
on top of each other.
E-billing provides customers with access to their invoices
online and will also enable them to pay them in full without
having to wait on printed copies arriving in the post. It
is estimated that by implementing this system Offce
Depot will reduce the 3.5 million paper invoices which are
currently sent out every year by up to 80% each year.
Hide cable clutter
Cable management specialist D-Line has
developed a solution for the age-old problem of
cable clutter. New Cable Tidy Units are designed
to hide unsightly cabling from PCs, TVs and other
electrical equipment at home and work.
Available in two colours – black or white and in
two sizes, the Cable Tidy Units have cable entry and
exit slots in the rear for a neat appearance. The smaller
unit can accommodate four-way socket extension
blocks while the larger unit is designed to hide up
to six-way socket extension blocks and all of the
associated cable spaghetti. Both also allow for the
height of transformer plugs.

Premier Paper to capture
carbon
As a corporate partner of the
Woodland Trust, Premier Paper
Group has signed up to the newly
launched UKWoodland Carbon Code.
This programme sets a new standard
for carbon capture, removing it
from the atmosphere through the
creation of native woodland across
the country.
Using guidelines and fgures from
The Carbon Trust and DEFRA, Premier
has calculated the amount of CO2
the business emits per tonne of paper
sold.Working with theWoodland Trust
and its Woodland
Carbon scheme
will allow Premier
to capture the
CO2 from the
distribution of
four popular paper
ranges – Evolution,
Multicopy,
Elements and
Essential Coated
paper.
Over the next
12 months Premier will support the
Woodland Trust in creating more than
20,000 square metres of new native
woodland in the UK. In time this
woodland will remove at least 810
tonnes of CO2 from the air, locking it
securely away in the timber of these
broadleaved trees.
