The need to prevent data stored on hard disks from falling into the wrong hands has encouraged a number of shredder manufacturers to expand their range to include hard drive shredders.

Duplo believes that the visible evidence of drive destruction will be welcomed by customers, whether the £3,275 IDEAL 0101 HDP is used on its own or in combination with degaussing machines and software solutions.

The Shredding Alliance (TSA) has signed a three-year partnership with Robert Horne Group to ensure that waste paper collected from users of its yoyo closed loop paper recycling service is disposed of in compliance with the Data Protection Act.

Robery Horne’s yoyo service collects waste from customers’ premises, recycles it and then uses the same recycled pulp to make new paper, which it sells back to the customer. Traceability is an important aspect of a closed loop recycling process and TSA’s confdential document destruction service encompasses a fully accountable end-to-end provision. Under the agreement, TSA will provide a collection service from customers’ premises, secure destruction of confdential waste paper via on-site or off-site shredding and a guarantee that yoyo-sourced paper is returned to the recycled fbre bank. TSA has been formed by a number of the UK's leading independent document shredding and recycling companies. All TSA document handling operatives have been fully vetted to BS7858 and all service suppliers operate to ISO9001:2008 incorporating BS EN15713:2009, the European standard for the destruction of confdential information.
