BenQ monitors are
easy on the eye
BenQ has launched a series of flicker-
free monitors that are claimed to
be more restful for the eyes than
conventional LED displays.
The Eye-Care displays feature a
De-flickering Backlight Circuit Controller
that eliminates the flickering that occurs
when an LED backlight controller reacts
to changes in ambient brightness. BenQ
claims that fast, nearly invisible flickering
can strain the eye’s ciliary muscle,
resulting in tiredness and headaches.
The 14 monitors, available in sizes from 20
to 27 inches, can be used as primary displays
or as secondary displays for notebook users
wanting a larger screen size and a more
ergonomic desktop arrangement.
Other ‘eyegonomic’ features include: a
Senseye Reading Mode that creates a paper-like
reading experience by adjusting the monitor’s
colour temperature, brightness levels, contrast
ratio and sharpness; an Automatic Eye-Protect
Sensor that detects ambient light levels and
continuously adjusts monitor brightness for
optimum clarity and comfort; an anti-glare matt
finish display; and, on some models, periodic
reminders to take a screen break.
