As part of its strategy to enable organisations to improve business collaboration by providing video everywhere, Cisco has unveiled a host of new video endpoints and offerings designed to make it easier for offce workers to produce and consume video.
1. For immersive communications in offces and small meeting rooms, Cisco is introducing the new 47-inch Cisco TelePresence System 1300, which can be free-standing or wall-mounted and used with Cisco’s new 12-inch touchscreen control panel.
2. Due to be released this summer, the Cisco Telepresence Touch makes it easier to access meeting information, consult a directory and share content.

Paving the way for new video services such as distance learning, tele-health, virtual professional services and community services, Cisco has announced interoperability between its business Telepresence systems and the Cisco umi domestic video-conferencing solution. Comprising an HD camera, console and remote, umi provides immersive HD video via an HD television, with HD recording and sharing on FaceBook, Flipshare and You Tube, plus the ability to leave video messages if a call is missed.
5. Another noteworthy addition to Cisco’s range is Cisco Jabber, a unifed communications application that brings together presence, instant messaging (IM), voice and video, voice messaging, desktop sharing and conferencing into a single consistent
experience across PCs, Macs, table and smart phones. Jabber provides simple way for business workers to fnd the right people, to see if and on what device they are available, to collaborate using their preferred method or device and to escalate from an IM conversation to a voic video or desktop sharing interactio on the fy. Based on the industry-standard Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) for presence and IM, Jabber allows employees from one company to interact with those at another using applications from Google, IBM.
