What is currently having the greatest impact on your business? Our culture! It continually amazes me what great people can achieve with limited resources. What do you see as the key trends set to shape the market in 2023? Inflation costs and the skills gap will drive adoption and growth of cloud services and cloud applications in the SME sector. What are your business resolutions for 2023? To control costs and conserve cash. What should IT managers do differently in this coming year? Focus on the added costs of IT management, training, time management etc. They add up and need to be considered in the total cost of ownership. What are your IT predications for the coming year? Continued chip shortages and continued inflation costs. Where do you see the next big opportunity? Artificial Intelligence as a Service! What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? Manage your energy, not your time. Playing to your strengths and doing things that energise and fulfil you makes you more effective and happier – Jack Groppel. What is your favourite quote? If you think you can or you think you can’t, either way you’re probably right – Henry Ford. If you had had a crystal ball, would you have done anything differently in your life? Nothing. Failures and mistakes have taught me some of the best life lessons. Describe your most embarrassing moment? Coughing so badly during a keynote speech that I had to ask my friend Richard Tubb to close the session and apologise to the audience. What was your first job? I’m a farmer’s son so I can’t remember. My first paid job was taking out the slurry on the farm. What would your dream job be? Prime Minister. Favourite holiday destination? The Canary Islands. How do you like to spend your spare time?
