[email protected] COMMENT 03 We are now just weeks away from the inaugural Technology Live exhibition and conference, taking place on September 28 at the Business Design Centre, Islington in London. Included in this issue, you will find a show preview featuring some of the exhibitors you can see at the event, as well as a list of the seminars and roundtable discussions we will be running throughout the day. It was quite a struggle fitting everything in, so much so that we have had to bring the show opening forward by half an hour to 9.30 a.m., with the opening keynote now starting at 9.45 a.m.. Technology Live seems very timely, not just because people are desperate to meet up with friends and colleagues from the industry, but also because, with end user customers looking to rationalise the number of vendors they deal with, there is great potential for VARs and MSPs to expand their offerings into other areas. Given the complexity of much of today’s technology, partnerships are an attractive option – especially when it comes to cyber security. As Rick Gray from Cyberfit Security explained to us when we interviewed him for our feature on page 40, specialist MSSPs bring a whole range of skills and expertise to the table that mere MSPs might find it hard to compete with. Of course, vendors too can provide the expertise customers are looking for. In our Q&A on page 25, Clare Loveridge, General Manager EMEA at Arctic Wolf, explains how the security operations company’s concierge security team acts like an extension of a business’s own IT team, providing expert guidance and support to customers. From a reseller/MSP perspective, Arctic Wolf offers the flexibility of selling the product on a resale basis, with Arctic Wolf providing all the expertise, or as a managed service, with MSPs that have the necessary skills dealing with the customer on a day to day basis.
