Managing Director Gareth Davies believes changing working practices and a greater focus on customer service over the last year have encouraged businesses to use mobile messaging to engage with remote workers and customers, rather than just for managing appointments and deliveries. He said: “One of the main reasons why more businesses are choosing to adopt mobile messaging is the flexibility it can offer. For example, when businesses were forced to close their doors with relatively little notice, mobile messaging was typically used to help customers make alternative arrangements, as well as advising staff on the steps they needed to take to keep safe.” Voodoo’s technical division based in Manchester is now planning enhancements to the platform to encourage more businesses to make use of mobile messaging. Founded in 2013 and awarded ISO 27001 in 2019, Voodoo has some of Britain’s top brands and public sector organisations in its growing client base, including Amazon, HSBC and Sports Direct. The solution allows customers to combine the power of an agile cloud environment and specialised hardware, including NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, to tailor their compute resources to the exact requirements of a particular project, with the reassurance of predictable bills at end of month. Jon Lucas, Co-director of Hyve, said: “What makes Hyve different is that we can provide purpose-built infrastructure for very specific requirements at a much lower cost point than you would get on the public cloud. One customer told us that our quote for one month was the price they would pay for eight days on the public cloud! For businesses that have a large processing requirement over a set amount of time, we have an incredibly cost-effective solution.” Jake Madders, Co-director of Hyve, added: “Towards the back end of last year, we saw a large uptick in the number of HPC requests from customers looking to move away from renting time on supercomputers or paying public cloud vendors astronomical prices for a very limited service. We made it our mission to design an HPC offering for 2021 that will transform the market by delivering a fully managed, cost-effective solution.” www.hyve.com Gareth Davies
