PTG’s investment in the national team will allow it to purchase brand-new laptops and gain access to Hudl cloud-based performance analytics software, with real-time GPS positioning on the pitch and replay and annotation of training footage. Expleo strengthens RPA expertise Technology and engineering consultancy Expleo is partnering with UiPath to help clients harness the potential of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to improve efficiency, speed up processes, cut costs and reduce the burden of mundane, administrative tasks. The partnership, announced to coincide with the opening of Expleo’s Ireland-based Centre of Excellence for process automation, brings together Expleo’s sector knowledge with UiPath’s end-to-end platform for hyper-automation, which combines the leading RPA solution and a full suite of capabilities, including process mining and analytics. Resellers must do more to address e-waste says Stone Group as it launches new app Stone Group, a leading UK ICT solutions provider, is hoping to tackle the growing e-waste problem, with the launch of a free app that helps organisations take a sustainable, 360 degree approach to IT, from procurement to end-of-life, backed by the promise to plant a tree for every 200 items customers recycle. The Stone 360 app enables every business and public sector organisation to manage the entire lifecycle of their IT assets, in just a few easy clicks. They can use it to arrange collection of redundant IT equipment for secure recycling; track and manage rebates on old IT assets; and collect points for new or refurbished IT from Stone – or cash in the value of their recycled goods if they choose not to purchase new IT. Westbrook believes the reseller community should be doing much more to minimise the negative impact of e-waste on the environment. He said: “While many resellers appear to champion the sustainability message, we see far too few back it up with real action. How many have invested in their own on- site, fully accredited recycling facility? Very, very few as far as I’m aware. They think it’s OK to pass that responsibility off to a third party and that’s simply not good enough.” Westbrook added: “As we’re able to give significant quantities of IT equipment a second life, our customers are also helping small businesses, schools, hospitals or charities who really need access to low cost IT, as well as helping the environment. Recycling old IT equipment with us is an incredibly rewarding process in so many ways.” Deloitte sets up Workplace practice After working with Facebook to deploy Workplace at the British Olympic Association, Deloitte is establishing a dedicated Workplace from Facebook practice within its Future of Work group to help clients find better ways to connect, share ideas and collaborate. The practice will include a 10-strong team of experts in employee experience transformation, configuration, technology integration, content, risk and cyber security. Workplace VP Julien Codorniou said: “We’re seeing an increase in demand for easy-to-use, mobile-first tools that enhance productivity, employee satisfaction and make communicating seamless.
