Technology Reseller - v25

NEWS : RESELLERS 01732 759725 12 Simon Howitt Manchester based I.T. support company Titan has become the latest addition to the inTec Business Solutions digital transformation consultancy. Founded in 2016, inTec is seeking to build a dynamic ICT group made up of telecoms and IT support providers that recognise the need to broaden their portfolios and become full-service technology solutions providers but don’t have the resources to do it on their own. Its favoured model is that of an ‘owned’ partnership – a company in which it has a controlling interest, but which retain its identity and management team. inTec acquired its first ‘owned’ partner, Hale Communications, in 2018 and has since added three more: Stourbridge- based Vision Corporate Services; Stockport-based Cheshire Business Services; and, now, Titan, which will continue to trade as Titan Networks and be led by MD Mick Satiar. Simon Howitt, Chairman of inTec, said: “Partners we have engaged with can see the sense of being able to leverage inTec’s technical capabilities and work with their customers across a broader spectrum than just telecoms or IT support. They like that they are joining a group where they keep their identities and have a clear plan to drive growth in their business.” Titan joins inTec ‘owned’ partnership network CSI set to expand into US with Tectrade acquisition Managed Cloud and Security Enterprise Performance Partner CSI Group has strengthened its cloud services offering with the acquisition of Tectrade, a provider of data protection and risk management solutions. The acquisition will enable it to offer clients advanced data protection capabilities and allow the Group to expand into the US, where Tectrade has a New York office. Simon Payne, CEO of CSI Group, said: “Tectrade is a strong and strategic acquisition for us, providing additional depth of expertise in data protection which will deliver significant benefit to our clients. It also offers us the exciting prospect of expanding our services into the USA, which I’m delighted to announce Alex Fagioli, CEO of Tectrade, will head up.” He added: “CSI is committed to helping companies move their critical business applications and data to the cloud, and the investment we are making in Tectrade will extend our ability in this arena.” Based in Godalming, Surrey, Tectrade protects, recovers, manages, stores and secures petabytes of data for organisations around the world. It is an IBM Platinum Business Partner for Data Protection, Dell EMC Gold Partner, NetApp Gold Partner and Microsoft Cloud Partner and last year had a turnover of £31.2 million. Node4 just the ticket for Stagecoach Managed services provider Node4 has been chosen by Stagecoach to replace its legacy WAN infrastructure with a new software-defined network (SD-WAN). As part of its new ‘cloud-first’ network strategy, which combines SaaS adoption and preparation of core systems for the cloud, the bus and coach operator is replacing its legacy copper network infrastructure and moving to a high capacity fibre network. Node4, an early MSSP adopter of SD- WAN technology, is currently rolling out a standardised ‘Stagecoach in a Box’ solution for connectivity across all 230 Stagecoach sites. Graham Moore, Group Chief Information Officer at Stagecoach, said: “Cloud-first is the way all businesses should be heading and Stagecoach is no exception. We needed a solution that could be tailored to our specific needs and can support our cloud- first strategy. With Node4’s SD-WAN solution, we will have more control and flexibility over our network and are able to focus on the next stage of our cloud-first strategy.” www.node4.co.uk Hats off to Prolifics Technology consultancy and system integrator Prolifics has become a Red Hat Advanced Business Partner in the UK, in recognition of its expertise and track record of successfully completing Red Hat projects.
