01732 759725 NEWS : VeNDORS 16 With the extension of its Ethernet Fibre services to the Birmingham and Manchester areas, channel-focused internet service provider (ISP) Elite Limited now provides 1Gbps and 10Gbps Ethernet services in more than 136,000 postcodes. To mark the extension of its dark fibre network, Elite is partnering with Netgear and giving every new channel partner an Orbi Pro mesh Wi-Fi system with every order they place, until November 1 2019. Elite also offering new channel partners a ‘Beat Elite’ guarantee, under which any partner that finds a like-for-like service at a lower cost in an area where Elite operates will receive £1,000. Other benefits of Elite’s service include free install, a 5-hour SLA, 24/7 support, 1-2-1 account management and on-site working. Elite Head of Marketing and Business Development Matthew Rogers said: “Expanding our dark fibre network into these areas allows Elite to fully control the quality that we deliver by ensuring only the most reliable and dependable hardware is used both in our core and at the customer’s premises. It also brings a whole new level of flexibility that we can offer our partners.” He added: “We are now recruiting new channel partners to help change the Ethernet landscape and deliver what we believe to be the channel’s highest-quality Ethernet solutions.” Elite to recruit new partners following network expansion Panintelligence wins loyalty scheme contract Leeds-based data visualisation software firm Panintelligence has won a contract to supply its data analytics and business intelligence software to a new digital loyalty platform, also based in the city. The brainchild of former professional footballer Achille Traore, White Label Loyalty enables retail and hospitality companies to make data-driven decisions to reward customers, using Panintelligence Pi within clients’ own data environments to visualise data generated by their business and customers. Traore said: “The one-size-fits-all approach of traditional loyalty schemes simply doesn’t work and 75% of loyalty programmes fail. We have created a modular platform that we custom-build in around four weeks for any size of client, choosing the most relevant data, and making decisions based on that. We have effectively democratised the whole process, making data accessible to all.” White Label Loyalty was established in 2015 and currently employs 12 people. Customers include Fedex, the Marco Pierre White restaurant chain and Yorkshire tapas bar group La Casita. Traore added: “The next stage of our internal development will be the introduction of predictive analytics, using AI machine learning to predict customer churn and intervene to increase retention. Panintelligence will be a trusted partner for us on our next step of the journey too.” Fujitsu call for entries Fujitsu is calling on partners to enter its fifth annual SELECT Innovation Awards for projects in which channel partners, working as trusted advisors, have transformed a customer’s business through the deployment of digital technology from Fujitsu’s portfolio. Three finalists will be invited to attend the awards ceremony at Fujitsu Forum in November where the winner will receive $10,000 for use in a joint marketing campaign. The deadline for entries is September 10. www.fujitsu.com/select-innovation Data analytics companies are prime acquisition targets, says GlobalData GlobalData is predicting further data analytics acquisitions, following Salesforce’s recent purchase of data visualisation specialist Tableau for $15.7bn and Google’s acquisition of analytics company Looker for $2.6bn. Ed Thomas, Principal Analyst in GlobalData’s Technology Thematic Research team, said: “The data analytics acquisition trail may now see further activity with companies such as Domo and Alteryx becoming potential M&A targets as vendors that need to beef up their data analysis capabilities find the pool of available data specialists to acquire dwindling.” He added: “The challenge for enterprises is not collecting data – data is not scarce, nor is it difficult to extract – but deriving actionable insight from the wealth of information that they accumulate on a daily basis. This is where big data technologies come in, with their ability to handle extremely large, diverse datasets that, when analysed, can reveal patterns, trends and associations, especially relating to human behaviour and interaction.” www.globaldata.com Smart partnership Rittal, Atos and Siemens have formed a global strategic partnership to develop intelligent edge data centre solutions for smart industries, smart cities, smart retail, energy and utility companies and public sector organisations.
