MFPs for small
businesses
Oki is addressing the needs
of small businesses with the
launch of two affordable A3
colour MFPs priced differently
to appeal to different types
of user.
The MC851 (22ppm
colour/34ppm B&W) has an
attractively low price point of
£2,490 to suit small businesses
with low print volumes; whereas
the MC861 has a higher
purchase price (£2,750) but
lower running costs to appeal
to customers with higher print
volumes. The latter also has
a faster colour print speed of
26ppm and larger toner capacity.
OKI Systems UK Ltd senior
product marketing manager Alan
McLeish said: “The MC861 and
MC851 are affordable enough
to allow access to both A4 and
A3 printing, copying, faxing
and scanning and yet compact
enough to be positioned close to
the work teams.”

Print Manager is meeting
the needs of businesses that
require a mobile/remote
printing capability yet still
wish to retain full control over
document output with the
launch of a driverless print
option for its popular print
management solution.
The Print Manager Plus
WebAdvantage Suite enables
an organisation to create its
own private print cloud so that
users can print to devices on
the corporate network via the
internet while being subject to
the same security, control and
accounting features as offce-
based staff.
The web-based tools also
make it possible to implement
controls without having to
add new
hardware, cash machines,
kiosks or card swipe systems:
all that’s needed is a web or
intranet connection.
Once a user has logged on
with existing login details, they
can upload a document, select
a printer and print without
having to install a driver. They
can even pay for their jobs from
an existing balance with PayPal
or Credit Card.
The solution supports any
network printer type, make
or model and can be used
to print PDFs, spreadsheets,
presentations, documents and
images in duplex, with stapling
and hole-punching if required.

Olivetti’s
Best for Colour
Olivetti has launched a ‘Best
For...’ dealer accreditation
programme to help
customers fnd suppliers
with expertise in specifc
areas within the company’s
rapidly expanding product
range, which now includes
document management
systems, notebook computers,
netbooks, tablets, displays,
interactive whiteboards,
electronic point of sale
systems, printers and
multifunction printers, all sold
via a network of 120 dealers
throughout the UK and Ireland.
The frst category launched,
‘Best For Colour’, is designed to
give consumers confdence that
they are dealing with a reseller
that has achieved the highest
levels of professionalism in
colour MFP sales and service.
Early next year Olivetti will be
launching Best for Retail, Best for
IT and Best for Schools schemes.
Meanwhile, Olivetti continues
to enhance its mono MFD range,
most recently with the launch
of three mid-to-high volume A3
MFDs offering print speeds of
35, 45 and 55ppm.
To support the paperless
workfows of modern
organisations, the standard
colour scanner can be upgraded
to a super-fast Dual-Scan ADF,
which scans both sides of a
page in a single pass at speeds
of up to 160 images per minute.

Danwood
The Danwood Group has
become the frst company to

April, Danwood announced
that it would be selling the

its Print Ecology brand.

Cargil Solutions has set-up a
new direct sales arm to sell

to businesses looking to
implement cost-effective,
sustainable printing practices.
The company’s direct sales
arm will draw on Cargil
Solutions’ national network of
dealerships to provide support
and technical expertise.

printers’ high irritation factor is
that fewer than half the survey
respondents (45%) believe
printers will be vital to offce life
in 20 years’ time.
Printing delays caused by paper jams are the second
biggest offce bugbear, according to a survey of 1,500
offce workers commissioned by Samsung to mark its
20th year in print.
