WHAT'S NEW 51 PRINTITRESELLER.UK 27 Wireless LAN module POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics has launched its MCW10 module that plugs directly into Star POS printers to enable printing over wireless LAN. Currently designed for Star’s mC-Print series, it fits neatly in the back of the mC-Print3, or externally on the mC-Print2, to provide a compact wireless LAN solution that supports the new WPA3 standard for wireless printer communication. By deploying the MCW10, retailers can benefit from robust in-store wireless communication, while in hospitality environments the module supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands with 5GHz being resistant to the interference of radio waves generated by microwave ovens to provide a safe and effective wireless LAN solution. Once the mC-Print printer is connected via wired LAN and USB to the module, users can quickly and easily benefit from wireless printer communication thanks to the Star Quick Setup Utility. Moreover, no additional printer integration is necessary by software providers. Featuring an LED display along with Ethernet and USB cables provided in the box, the MCW10 offers a cost-effective plug and play multi-port wireless LAN solution that allows two printers or other devices to be connected at the same time. www.Star-EMEA.com Brother bolsters mobile printing range Brother UK has enhanced its RuggedJet (RJ) mobile print range, introducing two new models to help bolster resellers’ support for customers in the field service, retail and warehousing sectors as the category sees further growth. The new RJ-3200 range of label printers, comprising the RJ-3230B and the RJ-3250WB, have the latest connectivity, charging and integration features required to meet end-users’ needs. Boasting applications to assist with everything from shelf labelling, price markdowns, click and collect through to quotes, estimates, and invoices, the RJ-3200 models are well equipped to slot into a wide variety of working situations. The new devices are suited to help workers on the go, delivering print speeds of up to five inches-per-second, featuring strengthened bodies that can withstand drops of up to two metres in height, and meeting IP54 certification meaning that the models resist water spray and protect against damage from dust penetration. Wireless connectivity options including Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth enable workers to easily carry out tasks remotely. An upgraded 16-hour battery life also lasts users over two shifts, helping to maximise usage time and productivity. The devices are compatible with a variety of command languages, including ZPL2, ensuring that the new models will integrate seamlessly with firms’ existing IT infrastructure. They’re also compatible with device management software, including SOTI, meaning IT leads can manage their fleet of label printers remotely with ease. The new range, which replaces the existing RJ-3050 and RJ-3150 models, comes as part of wider investment in Brother UK’s specialist print solutions (SPS) division. The vendor recently launched Brother ONSITE – a new next-day maintenance service for its TJ range of industrial label printers. The service reduces the risk of downtime for customers where labelling is critical to operations. www.brother.co.uk Exclusive new inline product Konica Minolta and the Plockmatic Group have extended their partnership to launch the powerful and versatile SD-435/450 booklet makers.
