Embedded functionality for Sharp MFPs Y Soft has announced the availability of the 2nd generation of YSoft SafeQ Embedded Terminal for Sharp multifunctional devices. The YSoft SafeQ Embedded Terminal is a software-based terminal integrated into the multifunction device. It utilises the MFD’s printer control panel for user input, providing a seamless user experience and simple and intuitive operation using the Sharp touchscreen display. This upgraded version of YSoft SafeQ Embedded Terminal includes the latest clean design user interface enhancements, which enable easy and personalised access to features and functions. The A3 document scanners offer faster and higher quality images for improved productivity with lower maintenance and total cost of ownership. The scanners have a shorter start- up and faster scanning time than their predecessors. Tough Feed technology reduces the jamming and double-feed rate resulting in reduced scanning errors and duplication of effort. The new long- life rollers increase the recommended replacement cycles from 350k to 700k sheets – reducing roller costs by half. A newly developed paper-dust-resistant design reduces errors and cleaning cycles. Superior image quality, as a result of the high performance image sensor (3-line CIS), provides accurate extraction of information for back-end systems. The company claims that ReadyPrint brings customers savings of up to 70% on print costs with the added convenience of new ink delivered straight to their door, when they need it. Epson’s cartridge-free EcoTank printers will be also soon be added into the ReadyPrint service. To help ease costs even further during this challenging time, Epson is offering its monthly subscription service, ReadyPrint Flex, available for Epson WorkForce and Expression Home printers, for free for an initial three-month launch period until 31 July 2020.
