01732 759725 18 WHAT’S NEW Focus On: What’s New Security by design Canon Europe has launched six new A4 black and white imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices; iR ADV 525i, iR ADV 525iZ, iR ADV 615i, iR ADV 615iZ, iR ADV 715i, and iR ADV 715iZ. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 525/615/715 II series will replace the existing 400i/500i models in the range, while offering a significant upgrade for users in terms of speed, productivity and security features. The new devices are equipped with all the benefits of the existing third generation portfolio, including the newest Unified Firmware Platform, uniFLOW Online Express and enhanced security. Complete with a built-in ADF scanner, proximity card reader and a dedicated finisher model, the compact design means that the devices take up minimal space, without compromising on functionality. And the new models are up to 30 per cent faster with speeds reaching up to 71 ppm. Features include new all- in-one cartridge-based technology which makes the removal and replacement of toners fuss-free and the new machines are also equipped with an intuitive user interface and a colour touch screen for ease of use. The built-in cloud platform reduces demand on IT resource thanks to the constantly evolving Unified Firmware Platform (UFP). The new devices also have a number of added and enhanced security functions. HDD encryption as standard and user authentication login at device protects confidentiality and strengthens security credentials, even when printing from mobile. To help prevent unauthorised distribution of sensitive information, various device functions can be disabled for individual users, helping meet GDPR requirements. www.canon-europe.com Toshiba raises the bar for performance and versatility Toshiba TEC has launched its most comprehensive range of high performance colour and mono A3 MFPs to date. Efficient, secure, environmentally friendly and exceptionally versatile, the new models can be tailored to suit organisations’ individual print, scanning and document management needs. Increased efficiency is central to the design of these devices. A fully customisable user interface enables departments to tailor settings and provide easy access to pre-defined workflows, drastically reducing the time taken to complete regular tasks (for example scanning and filing invoices). The new MFPs include vital features to support GDPR compliance activities, including optional card, PIN and biometric authentication, as well as PIN access facilities. In addition, Toshiba’s Secure Hard Disk Drive (HDD) provides robust security for all sensitive data on the HDD and is included as standard with the entire A3 MFP range. Energy saving capabilities, such as a low-power Super Sleep mode and an Auto duplex facility ensure a lower total cost of ownership and limit environmental impact. In addition, all the devices comply with leading environmental programmes such as ENERGY STAR. Colour models in the e-STUDIO2510AC series and the e-STUDIO5015AC series, and monochrome models in the e-STUDIO5018A series have printing speeds of up to 50 pages per minute.
