Of note is the new Katun Dealer Fleet Management product, KDFM eXplorer. KDFM eXplorer is a secure way to make data always interactive using a multi- platform device collecting agent, either embedded on the device or running within the operating system. It includes full access to HP Smart Device Services, powered by MPS Monitor, to help technical staff in online diagnosis and device maintenance. www.katun.com Contemporary, space-saving inkjet printers Epson has announced the latest additions to its line-up of inkjet printers. The Expression Premium XP-6100 series and XP-7100 compact all-in-ones are great for producing both high-quality photos and sharp documents, while also being economical with double- sided printing and individual inks. Wireless printing and scanning is easy – laptops can benefit from Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, while smart phones and tablets can also utilise the compatible free Epson apps – iPrint and Creative Print. A first for the Expression Premium range, the XP-7100 additionally offers a double- sided ADF for multi-page scanning and copying. Epson’s latest cartridge-free EcoTank printers, ET-2710 and ET-2711, are the first entry-level models to incorporate the re-engineered design with front facing ink tanks. This design offers improved usability and a more compact footprint. Typical of the EcoTank range, these printers will minimise refills and reduce ink costs by 90% on average, printing up to 4,500 pages in black and 7,500 in colour from just one set of high-yield ink bottles. The ineo 3602P/4402P/4702P feature a maximum output speed of 47 A4 pages per minute and are ideally equipped to serve as the main printer in a workgroup or small business and as a desktop device in larger firms. All three models come with a standard duplex printing function to save paper and energy. For ease of use, the printers are extremely easy to operate thanks to a simple folder-like navigation concept. A particularly useful feature of the ineo 4402P/4702P is a 2.4-inch colour display with an intuitive operating principle and highlighted menus that show users the printer’s status, operating options and settings. Designed for organisations receiving more than 50 deliveries per week on average, Packcity is comprised of modular secure electronic lockers with a touchscreen interface and software for reporting, tracking and monitoring. On delivery, items are scanned by mailroom staff and placed in one of the secure lockers. The touchscreen and internal address book which is loaded on installation and thereafter automatically updated on a daily basis, notifies parcel recipients of their delivery and provides them with a unique pin code. Recipients can then collect the item whenever it suits them using the one-time pin code. www.neopost.co.uk Printing gets a voice HP has extended voice activated printing to consumers in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and India, following its launch in the US. A skill for two of the three major smart speaker platforms Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant (support for Microsoft Cortana is still only available in the US) will enable users of its web-enabled printers to connect their devices to the virtual assistant ecosystem and initiate printing through spoken commands. Connectivity with smart speakers is just the first step in voice-enabling HP devices.
