Colour laser at inkjet prices

With the Xerox Phaser 6125 you get a lot of printer for very little money. This tall and chunky entry-level colour laser printer costs from just £207, yet still churns out pages at a respectable 12 pages per minute colour and 16ppm mono.

Xerox says that the 6125 is ideal for insurance agencies and marketing firms, but at this price it is also attractive to small office/home office users, especially corporate teleworkers.

Home workers in particular will appreciate such a low-maintenance device: toner cartridges, which come pre-installed for easy set-up, are the only consumable, as the imaging unit and fuser are designed to last the lifetime of the machine (5 years with average monthly print volumes of 500 pages).

SOHO users are also less likely to be put off by the machine’s limitations, such as host-based printing, which can be slow; manual duplex; comparatively low recommended monthly print volumes; and highish print costs of 11.5p per colour page (C, M, Y, K@ 5% each) and almost 2p per B&W page.
