The clear advantage
Canon, too, is promising brighter prints on uncoated papers. Its Pixma MX7600 is the first inkjet all-in-one to use Canon’s new Pigment Reaction (PgR) ink, which enables home and small office users to produce laser-like text, vibrant graphics and stunning photos on plain paper with no show through, curling or bleeding.
It does this by coating the paper with clear ink as it travels towards the printhead: Canon’s Lucia pigment inks then bond to the clear ink, improving saturation and brightness. According to Canon, prints are also moisture- and highlighter-resistant.
Available in April, the £329 PIXMA MX7600 is a versatile all-in-one device for small businesses. It prints and copies at speeds of 28ppm (B&W) and 23ppm (colour), and includes scan and fax functions, with in-built duplex and Ethernet connectivity as standard.
