The Kyocera KM-8030 has set a new standard for reliability by printing 2.5 million pages in a Buyers Laboratory Inc. 125-day Extended-Term Reliability Test. The 80-page per minute MFP required no servicing other than scheduled preventive maintenance at 500,000-impression intervals and experienced just 20 misfeeds throughout the entire test.

BLI’s test replicates actual office usage and includes a mix of simplex and duplex modes and short, moderate and long run lengths, with on/off cycles throughout each day. The test included document feeding/scanning and print jobs performed on a variety of paper stocks. Daria Hoffman, managing editor for BLI, commented: “The virtually flawless performance of the Kyocera KM-8030 in BLI’s 2.5-million-reliability test is a truly stunning accomplishment.
The length of this test is unprecedented in our history. The fact that the Kyocera KM-8030 completed it with a better misfeed rate than most other Segment 5 models tested, and without requiring any service other than regularly scheduled preventive maintenance at 500,000-impression intervals, is an impressive testament to its outstanding reliability.”
