A hosted phone service that is claimed to combine the best of VoIP and traditional telephony has been launched by voice and data service provider 8el.
Using feedback from its existing customer base, 8el developed Callport to meet the need for a business-grade service that offered the flexibility of VoIP and the reliability of traditional phone services.
The IP Centrex service offers numerous features including unified messaging, recording, hunt groups, conference calls, hot desking and virtual working, with the added bonus of free local, national and inter-site calls.
The customer can configure the service - including adding or deleting users and creating new call groups - via a PC screen or remotely via the Internet.
