Unfold with EnerGel!

Pentel is spreading the word about one of its most exciting products with an eye-catching new campaign that’s sure to bring a smile to the faces of offce workers and students everywhere.

The writing instruments manufacturer has developed an intriguing viral advertisement that conveys the most important features of the EnerGel range in a clever and amusing way that viewers will want to watch to the very end.

The campaign features a series of video clips telling a story through a sequence of illustrations drawn with an EnerGel pen.

The clips will appear on Pentel’s website and YouTube throughout the summer and autumn and will be supported by online and print advertising including an insert in the Metro daily newspaper inviting commuters to visit the company’s website to ‘see the story unfold’. Pentel marketing manager, Wendy Vickery, expects the campaign to spread virally across the internet. “Our aim is for those watching the movie to wonder,

‘How long did it take them to do that?’ and obviously to want to pass it on to their friends and colleagues,” she said.

She added: “EnerGel represents the very best from Pentel in terms of quality, innovation and product performance.We know it can be very diffcult for people to appreciate the difference between writing instruments these days, when there is so much choice and so many good quality products on the market. However, EnerGel really does offer a superior writing experience, and we want to explain to those buying or choosing their own writing instruments why that’s the case. That’s why we’ve developed a marketing campaign that we feel will communicate with people in an unusual and engaging way.”

Fast drying

All products in the EnerGel family feature quick drying liquid gel ink that makes writing a real pleasure, especially for left-handed writers, as Wendy explains:

“Left-handed writers often fnd that ordinary gel ink pens don’t

dry quickly enough and often leave a smudge across the page or on the writer when their hand moves across the paper. Because EnerGel ink dries much more quickly, smudging and mess is less of an issue, allowing left-handed writers to enjoy the smooth fowing properties of EnerGel ink in the same way as their right-handed colleagues.”

EnerGel X. New to the range, EnerGel X extends the EnerGel experience to those on tight budgets. The retractable liquid gel pen has a see-through barrel, a 0.7mm tip – the most popular choice for everyday use – and is made from 84% recycled material*. It costs just £1.69 and is available in black, red and blue ink, with violet launching in the autumn.

EnerGel Plus. The next model in the family is available in a choice of 0.7mm tip or a 0.5mm needle tip, for those who prefer a more precise line. Costing £2.34, EnerGel Plus has a distinctive gun metal grey barrel (0.7mm) or dark blue barrel (0.5mm) and is made from 53% recycled material*.

EnerGel Xm and EnerGel Xm Retractable. These de luxe liquid gel pens feature strong metal pocket clips and are refllable. The former has a cap and is available in a choice of 0.7mm or 1.0mm tip. It is made from 50% recycled material* and costs £2.76. The latter
