The first two Scribit Originals are with Olafur Eliasson’s solar lamp non- profit organisation Little Sun, which is aiming to create the world’s largest mosaic by plotting sun charts on the walls of thousands of Scribit owners, and with Ariana Grande’s go-to tattoo artist Mira Mariah, who has created the world’s first wall tattoo, an original drawing called ‘Me and you and we and her’ that Scribit owners will be able to reproduce on their own wall, canvas or other vertical surface. While Mira Mariah’s drawing promotes female empowerment, the Little Sun collaboration is designed to highlight the need for clean energy and climate action. Scribit owners are being invited to input a specific date, hour and location into the Scribit app to generate a unique representation of the position of the sun in the sky at their chosen time and place. When the vertical plotter receives the information, it activates and draws the custom chart on a wall, canvas or other vertical surface. Since Scribit is able to repeatedly draw and erase content, users are able to update their personal home graffiti as often as they please. Carlo Ratti, inventor of the write-and-erase robot and director of the Senseable City Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), said: “Scribit challenges the paradigm of art as confined to a precise time and location. It narrows the gap between viewer and artist. Instead of a fleeting encounter, art becomes a dialogue, an exchange, an evolving interaction.” www.scribit.design P2P Magazine | 03 www.p2pmag.co.uk The visionary office. The stationery trends.
