Pen To Paper Magazine - Autumn 2019

P2P Magazine | 11 www.p2pmag.co.uk Exacompta Clairefontaine offers a huge range of quality products from internationally known and respected brands, such as Exacompta, Clairefontaine, Rhodia, Décopatch, Avenue Mandarine and Maildor; traditional stationery brands like Herbin, G. Lalo and Brause; and popular ranges, including Europa, Iderama, Pollen, Guildhall, Chartwell, Exactive, Goldline and Technik Art. In line with its commitment to corporate responsibility, the group has been integrating ecology and sustainable development into its corporate strategy for more than 40 years, fully embracing the requirement to use resources more wisely and to recycle as much as possible in order to limit the impact of modern society on our planet. Today, sustainability is firmly embedded in all Exacompta Clairefontaine operations and, wherever possible, the company uses only certified and environmentally accredited materials to manufacture its products. Almost two-thirds (60%) of the group’s products are made from environmentally certified materials (card, board, paper and polypropylene). In addition, 40% of its ranges have FSC or PEFC accreditation for virgin paper fibre or Blue Angel certification for products made from recycled paper or post-consumer plastic. Blue Angel-certified The Forever range of filing and desktop accessories is the leading example of the group’s environmental commitment, being its first complete range made from Blue Angel-certified paper and plastic. The product line-up includes a comprehensive selection of desktop accessories, including drawers, letter trays, magazine files, waste bins and pen pots, in a choice of three colours (cobalt blue, lime green and black), and a complementary range of filing essentials, including dividers, display books, ring binders, folders and document wallets. Growing awareness Clement Rouillard, Marketing Manager of ExaClair, the UK subsidiary of the Exacompta Clairefontaine group, says the Forever brand both reflects and appeals to greater environmental awareness throughout the stationery industry. “Sustainability and the need to reduce waste going to landfill are becoming increasingly important,” he said. “The Forever brand has been enthusiastically received by the stationery sector. It won the coveted Product of The Year award at the recent VOW Europe Venture Awards and its products are carried by all of the industry’s wholesalers. It is also undergoing current listing reviews with the supermarkets.” Rouillard adds that the range has benefitted from changes in manufacturing processes that have enabled ExaClair to use a wider range of recycled material and to provide recycled products at an attractive price point, without the price premium that used to be a barrier to greater market acceptance. “Recent manufacturing technologies within the company now enable us to supply quality recycled items at a cost- effective level, and we now manufacture these using post-consumer plastics from a much wider range of products, including electrical appliances such as fridges,” he said. Previously, Forever desktop and filing products were made only from recycled juice bottles. To meet growing demand for environmentally-friendly products, the company plans to continue to expand the Forever brand. There are already several new products in the pipeline, including a new Forever recycled notebook. Spreading the word In the meantime, Exaclair has launched a multi-channel campaign to increase awareness of the environmental benefits of the Forever brand across all sectors of the stationery market. This includes a range of tools and materials that retailers and resellers can use within their own promotional initiatives, such as social media packs and website assets; event and in-store POS collateral, including window displays, shelf wobblers and merchandiser displays; branded literature; training; and promotional events. www.exaclairlimited.com FILING & DESKTOP ACCESSORIES Blue Angel-certified filing and desktop accessories The Forever range of filing and desktop accessories from Exacompta Clairefontaine clearly demonstrates the group’s commitment to environmental protection.
