Event Director Alex Butler said: “We are confident that exhibitions will resume in the spring and to ensure we’re in the best position possible to host a second-to-none event, we have secured a slightly later date than usual for next year’s show.” ExaClair, the UK supplier of Exacompta, has had a busy second half of the year, launching a raft of new products to help businesses cut waste and provide a Covid-secure workplace. The latter includes a range of antimicrobial filing and desktop products and an NHS Test & Trace logbook. Part of the Guildhall professional books and filing range, the Log Book can be used to keep accurate records of everyone who enters and leaves a business’s premises, including their name, contact number, date, arrival and departure times, group size and primary on- premises contact. Produced in ExaClair’s King’s Lynn factory, the book includes instructions on how to maintain records to support Test & Trace, as well as guidance on how to manage data within GDPR guidelines. Also new from Exacompta, the Clean’Safe range of filing products, desktop accessories and notebooks are treated with organic antimicrobial additives that inhibit the growth of bacteria, viruses, mould and fungi by more than 99%, helping to prevent cross- contamination and infection spread in homes and offices. The range includes slip files, two-flap folders, elasticated three-flap folders, document wallets, twelve-part multipart files, ring binders, lever arch files, desktop drawers, letter trays, magazine files, pen pots, desk mats and notebooks in A5, A4 and A4+ sizes. The notebooks feature Clairefontaine’s brushed vellum 90gsm paper in either lined or squared formats, with anti-microbial covers. Clean’Safe filing products are FSC- Certified, the notebooks are PEFC-certified and the desktop accessories are Blue Angel- certified and come with a 25-year warranty. For customers who want to make a more overt environmental statement, ExaClair has introduced a collection of Clairefontaine notebooks, pads and filing products made from recycled jean fibres and cocoa shells. Recycled jean fibres are sourced from clothing industry offcuts, while cocoa shells are a waste product of the confectionary industry. ‘Jean and Cocoa’ notepads (A4, A5, A6), elastic folders, lever arch files, messaging pads and magazine racks are available in denim- blue and neutral colours. https://exaclairlimited.com ExaClair expands range with Covid-safe choices Long-lasting ink ExaClair is celebrating Herbin’s 350th anniversary with a range of limited edition Herbin inks and gift sets featuring wax- capped bottles of the first five colours launched by Herbin – black, blue, red, green and violet. It has also brought out a selection of refillable Herbin brush pens ideal for lettering, watercolour and drawing that complements its existing range of refillable marker pens. Herbin inks have been manufactured in the heart of Paris since 1670. www.exaclairlimited.com Plastic-free business card packaging Antalis is supplying Commercial Foundation with specially designed cardboard business card boxes to help the social enterprise achieve its target of zero plastic. Commercial Foundation was established in 2015 to give disadvantaged young people the chance to gain useful work skills through initiatives likeWE DO.Print, which produces a range of digital and wide format print and promotional merchandise. This includes business cards, which used to be packed in standard 70mm- high plastic boxes and inserted into a bubble-lined mailing bag for posting. As part of its drive to eliminate plastic, Commercial Foundation is now using an 0427 pizza-style box designed by Antalis Smart Packaging Centre. Made entirely from recyclable FSC-certified board, the box has four compartments inside and space on the outside for the customer’s address and a message from Commercial Foundation. Although the box itself is slightly more expensive than the plastic one it replaces, it is cheaper overall because it does not require any secondary packaging materials. Online marketplace for notebook lovers Notebook Love has turned its e-commerce site into an online marketplace for notebooks, diaries, sketchbooks, journals, planners and organisers from other producers. Consol Efomi, who co-founded Notebook Love with Kate Efomi in Glasgow in 2016, said: “Sellers in the UK are already joining up, listing their products and receiving orders very quickly and consistently. Notebook Love has done all the heavy-lifting, making it easier for producers to concentrate on what they do best: producing beautiful notebooks.” Kate Efomi added: “We’re a bit like Not On The Highstreet or Etsy, but we’re dedicated solely to notebooks and diaries, which is a really strong niche.” www.notebooklove.com Exacompta Clean’Safe ISSUE 145
