businessinfomag.uk magazine 14 WORKPLACE OF THE MONTH The opening of Huckletree Soho follows the launch of PUBLIC Hall (see box) and, like the latter, has been set up to provide a ‘curated ecosystem’ of members with compatible and complementary areas of expertise. In the case of PUBLIC Hall, Huckletree hopes to build links between politicians, civil servants and technologists.With Huckletree Soho, it is seeking to bring together members of the global investment community and entrepreneurial digital/tech companies and start-ups. Huckletree Founder and CEO Gabriela Hersham said: “The investment community increasingly wants to be closer to the ideas, and entrepreneurs are looking for better access to capital networks. This led us to design a space with 'investors first' in mind. This is the first concept of this kind that we've seen in the UK, and we're excited to see the speed of connections, scaling Huckletree Soho and innovation that will come from neighbouring VCs, specialist funds, EdTech and scaleups in the same environment.” Huckletree Soho members already include investment funds Silicon Valley Bank, Sweet Capital and Concentric and, from the tech community, digital children’s food service Little Tummy and the Israeli EdTech concept Jolt. With work spaces, meeting rooms and break-out areas spread over four floors, Huckletree Soho provides plenty of opportunities for its 300 members to make connections and start building relationships – or work more closely with existing investment portfolio members. As you would expect, Huckletree Soho has a variety of features to foster wellbeing and mental health, from the all-immersive Dreamscape room, which will host regular wellness activities and a programme of collective meditation and escapism, to a plant-based cafe with a menu designed by Albi Ison, an ex-Ottolenghi chef specialising in vegetarian, vegan and whole food. To meet the training needs of members, there is an in-house learning studio and ‘classroom of the future’ developed with EdTech partner Jolt. Workspace accelerator Huckletree has opened what it describes as London’s first ‘investor-first’ co-working space where innovative investors can build relationships with ambitious high growth companies Public spaces Huckletree and leading venture firm PUBLIC are hoping to encourage stronger relationships between politicians, civil servants and technologists with the opening of the first govtech-focused workspace in the heart of Westminster. PUBLIC Hall will provide desks for 250 govtech start-ups and innovators and host curated events for public sector officials and technologists.
