In a recent survey by Airtasker, 70% of young Brits claimed to have a ‘side hustle’, with 34% devoting as much as 20 hours a week to it.While people often start such projects for financial reasons, to earn extra money to cover debts and expenses (20%) or to save up for a house (14%), 12% do them to fulfil an interest and 9% to acquire new skills. The top two complaints of the 2,000 office workers surveyed for Proxyclick’s annual OfficeWorker Bugbears survey were unfriendly receptionists (cited by 71%) and a lacklustre welcome (54%). In their survey of 2,000 UK office workers, 32% of employees said cheap prices and value for money were critical; 40% said they would visit their workplace canteen more often if the service was quicker or they could pre-order their food and pick it up without queuing. More than half (57%) would use it more often if they were rewarded for doing so by a loyalty scheme offering personalised deals.
