In addition to their use for authentication, these sensors help the phone take better portraits and enable you to create fun, animated 3D Qmojis that reproduce your facial expressions. The notch is larger on the Pro model than the standard Mate 20 to accommodate the 3D depth sensor in the front-facing camera, but with its 6.39-inch curved OLED display, 3,120 x 1,440 resolution and high screen-to-body ratio, the screen is so stunning and expansive that the notch does little to detract from it. Photos are optimised by AI, which recognises scenes and objects and automatically adjusts the colours, brightness and contrast to help you get the best shot. Its Matrix Camera System includes a 40MP main camera, 20MP ultra wide- angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera, supporting a wide range of focal lengths for professional results. Panoramic shots are made easy with the wider perspective offered by the 16mm Leica UltraWide Angle Lens. The lens also supports macro distance, producing crisp images of objects as close as 2.5cm from the lens. A 3D scanning feature was demonstrated on stage at the launch event, but this wasn't available at the time of writing.
