From the functionality of a garden shed to the luxurious walnut trim of a classic car, men feel comfortable with the honesty of wood in all its forms. It is fitting then that this material is such a feature of the new design created by CCWS Interiors for the London offices of the global men’s heath charity Movember Foundation. Earlier this year, Movember Foundation asked CCWS Interiors to create an environment that better Workspace locator Worktel, the platform for renting work spaces and meeting rooms, has launched a new website featuring details of more than 1,000 meeting rooms and 2,000 flexible workspaces that a user can hire for months, weeks or days, including 1,000 offices that can be rented on a monthly basis. The new website offers improved usability, with more than 40 filters that help narrow down searches, and the ability for users to specify the price they want to pay. www.worktel.com Nowhere to go A designated dining area tops the list of breakout spaces wished for by UK office workers (cited by 76%), ahead of sofas (70%) and bean bags (62%). More than half (56%) of those surveyed by interiors etailer Furniture123 .co.uk said they currently have nowhere to eat lunch; one third have no break-out space of any description. As a result, 34% of employees end up eating lunch at their desk. www.furniture123.co.uk Office of the month matched the charity’s people, brand and culture, with flexible office space that could be scaled up or down in line with campaign periods. Over six weeks, CCWS reconfigured the office space, replacing the traditional concept of ‘one desk, one employee’ with an interactive co-working model featuring flexible workspaces, hot desks, hot-booth meeting areas for collaboration and semi-enclosed booths CCWS Interiors transforms the working environment at the London offices of men’s health charity Movember Foundation for more private work. For the interior design, CCWS Interiors chose industrial design elements, like rustic wood cladding and exposed metal fixtures, alongside playful detailing. Much of this relates to Movember Foundation’s signature ‘moustache’ symbol, including naming rooms after famous moustache owners like Charlie Chaplin, Freddie Mercury and Albert Einstein. Movember Foundation, the leading charity for men’s health, helps address some of the biggest health issues faced by men including prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide prevention.
