Paul Pinder, Chairman at Boards Direct, said: “Despite current uncertainty in the British economy due to ongoing political negotiations in Europe, we are thriving and continuing to grow. That is partly due to the quality and range of products that we offer, with 3,000 products now available on our website.” This year Boards Direct expanded its offering with a number of new products including Mobiglass Plus, an exclusive range of mobile glass writing boards designed and manufactured in Nottingham. Pinder added: “Our continued growth is helping to support local businesses and has given us the opportunity to provide young people who want an alternative to university with experience and training across the whole of our business, combined with real job opportunities.” www.boardsdirect.co.uk ISSN 2055-5105 (Print) ISSN 2055-5113 (Online) Bosses more worried about office chores than GDPR Office workers are more likely to be reprimanded for forgetting to do menial tasks, like emptying/loading the dishwasher or keeping their workplace tidy, than for failing to comply with GDPR policies, reveals a new report by office equipment specialist Fellowes. In its survey of 1,000 UK office workers, just 14% said they had been told off for the careless handling of confidential data, compared to 25% who have been ticked off for failing to carry out office chores and 17% for missing deadlines and being late. More than half (54%) have seen personal or confidential data they shouldn’t have; 45% have sent a confidential email to the wrong person; and 33% have left confidential or personal data unattended. Darryl Brunt, country head UK & Ireland at Fellowes, said: “It’s a worrying sign that companies in the UK are more concerned about office chores than GDPR. One in ten workers don’t know who is responsible for GDPR within their business and almost one in five haven’t been given a concrete policy for handling GDPR. This has to change or businesses will pay the price.” www.fellowes.com P2P Magazine | 03 www.p2pmag.co.uk DURABLE UK team tackles charity cycle challenge Four Durable UK employees have helped to raise £14,000 for the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) by taking part in the inaugural Ride of Life, a sister event to the Climb of Life, which has been running for more than 30 years and has so far raised nearly one million pounds.
