Present anywhere
Ricoh’s latest portable projectors, the
PJ WX4152N and PJ WX4152NI, can
be placed just inches from the display
surface, making them ideal for smaller
offices and classrooms, as well as trade
shows and impromptu meetings.
With 1280 x 800WXGA resolution,
a projection brightness of up to 3,500
lumens and contrast ratios of up to
13,000:1, they can project sharp, colour-
rich, high-definition content, even in a
sunlit room.
Flexible mounting options enable
360-degree projection onto walls,
tabletops and floors, with automatic
keystone correction for perfectly aligned
images every time.
The interactive model, the PJ
WX4152NI, turns the projection surface
into an interactive whiteboard and
allows participants to add notes to
presentations with a digital pen.
Five year warranty for Vivitek
ultra short throw projectors
Vivitek has introduced a five-year full
coverage warranty for its Ultra Short
Throw (UST) projectors. The option is
valid for current Vivitek UST models
sold during 2016.
Vivitek says that unlike its
competitors, it will replace projector
lamps free of charge rather than at a
reduced cost to the user. By covering
up to two extra lamps, the warranty
ensures projectors can be used for five
years, based on average use of 10 hours
a day in standard operating mode.
When a lamp needs replacing,
Vivitek will send out a new lamp,
collect the old one and ensure it
is processed at a specialised
recycling company, thus
avoiding potential
environmental damage.

Ultra-wide short throw laser
projector
Optoma has added an ultra-wide model
to its ultra-short throw projector range.
The ZH300UW has a native resolution
of 1920 x 720 pixels and a 16:6 aspect
ratio, enabling it to accommodate two
4:3 images side-by-side.
At the same time, the projector’s
ultra-short throw lens has a 0.25:1
projection ratio, meaning that a large
120’’ image can be delivered from a
throw distance of just 72cm.
Based on laser-phosphor technology,
the ZH300UW is designed for business,
education and specialist AV applications.
It has an image brightness
of 3,000 lumens, a
contrast ratio of 10,000:1
and a life expectancy of up
to 20,000 hours, removing
the need for costly
replacement lamps.
Bright and beautiful
TheWU416, Optoma’s
new high resolutionWUXGA projector,
is designed for meeting rooms, museums,
churches and retail environments. It
has a 20,000:1 contrast ratio and a
brightness of 4,200 lumens for bright,
sharp imagery. A 1.6x zoom projection
lens and vertical lens shift allow for
easier installation and eliminate the
need for costly interchangeable lenses.
Laptop-free presentations
HDCast Pro is a 1080p multimedia
streaming dongle that plugs into the
HDMI port of a projector or TV to
support the wireless streaming of
content from a smartphone, tablet
or laptop. It can also stream digital
content stored on a home network.
The dongle can be used for laptop-free
presentations, to browse the internet or
mirror the screen of a laptop or mobile
device, and can even turn a mobile into a
document camera/visualiser.
A free app enables any smart device
to control what’s on-screen and can be
used to draw on and annotate files.
