Let’s have a chat
Teamplace, which already offers project
teams of any size unlimited storage space
for up to 90 days, has now added chat
functionality to its cloud storage and
collaboration solution. Users can add
comments to documents in the form
of chats that are retained over multiple
file versions providing a record of how a
document has developed. Teamplace CEO
Ole Raack said: “We’re not seeking to
compete with the mass of messenger apps
that allow you to exchange documents.
Productive communication takes place
in teams and where the content is; it’s
here that we’re convinced Teamplace is
setting new standards.Whoever creates a
Teamplace for their next meeting instantly
sees that results are achieved faster and
easier than through email.”
Round the clock delivery
Half-hour, door-to-door delivery company
Jinn is introducing a 24/7 service in parts
of London. Customers will be able to use
the app day or night to order everything
from takeaways, clothes, medicine and
groceries to alcohol and cigarettes, with an
average door-to-door delivery time of just
35 minutes. Jinn is now available in other
city centres including Manchester and
Birmingham.
Share your journey
Organisations across the UK are being
invited to take advantage of a free
website and app to help cut congestion
and traffic queues. Launched by
resource efficiency specialist ecosurety,
joinmyjourney enables commuters
travelling by car, bicycle or on foot to find
people in their area to share a journey.
Users can specify preferences (e.g. male/
female or smoker/non-smoker) and
message other users.
Smart bicycle bell
Blubel, a smart bicycle bell
that helps users navigate
cities, has been highlighted as
a Startup toWatch by
Tech.London, an online platform
that connects and supports tech
entrepreneurs in the capital.
The bell featuring a removable
navigation device and screen
connects to a smartphone by
Bluetooth and offers simple, at-a-
glance directions so that you don’t
have to access maps and apps while
cycling. The device will also remember
where you left your bicycle. The
plan is for Blubel to tap into cyclists’
wealth of knowledge and learn
shortcuts and the safest routes to take.

Field reporting
Go-Cam, the world’s first one-touch field reporting app, enables users to live-stream field
reports from a smartphone or tablet and send email and text alerts to nominated recipients
with a link to a Report Page. This includes the live video and supporting information, such as
sender details, location map and time and date stamp. The Report Page is automatically archived
for future reference.
Potential applications include use by estate agents to provide walk-through tours of properties;
by construction firms to film on-site updates for engineers and architects; by insurance companies to
enhance first-hand claims reporting; and by journalists for location reporting.
The app works anywhere there is aWifi or mobile network. When there is no internet connection, it
stores reports for sending when a connection becomes available.
Go-Cam can be white-labelled and re-branded by business clients and/or integrated into a business’
existing app, with all back-end issues and updates taken care of by the Go-Cam team. Go-Cam is free
for the first month and costs £3.99 per user per month thereafter. There is no fixed-term contract and
users can cancel their subscription at any time.
Office collections given digital
make-over
Office collections for departing colleagues
are being given a twenty-first century
make-over by Viing.
Instead of having to pass around
(track and chase) a card and envelope for
contributions, Viing lets you set up a page
online and share the link with colleagues
who can leave a message for the recipient
and put money into a virtual pot. Sums
collected can be transferred directly into
the recipient’s bank account or used to
buy a gift voucher.
The service, which can be used for
other occasions such as birthdays and
maternity leave, is free for the organiser
and for contributors. Viing makes its
money through mark-ups on the greeting
cards – all designed in-house – and from
commission received from gift voucher
suppliers.
Fitness and environmental tracker
The Fitti Guard, a new generation fitness
and environmental tracker, is raising funds
on Kickstarter. In addition to normal
fitness tracker features, such as a heart
rate sensor and step counter, Fitti Guard
detects environmental impacts like UV
light exposure, poor indoor air quality,
radioactivity and noise nuisance.
A vibration alarm and specific
warning icons inform the user as
soon as a predefined threshold
of exposure is exceeded.
