Nine out of 10 prefer it
BT has teamed up with Dolby
Laboratories to transform the
effectiveness of audio-conferences.
Its new service, BTMeetMe
with Dolby Voice, replicates the
experience of face-to-face meetings
with more natural sounding audio.
Improved sound quality with
clear voice separation allows remote
participants to focus on the content of
conversations instead of straining to
hear what’s being said and by whom.
In 10,000 trials, nine out of 10
participants said they preferred MeetMe
with Dolby Voice over their normal
service. The subscription service can be
enjoyed on its own or integrated with
other collaboration tools, including BT
MeetMeWebJoin.

New record for contact centre build
Cloud contact centre solutions provider NewVoiceMedia
is claiming the world record for the fastest contact
centre build after taking just 28 minutes and 39 seconds
to build a fully integrated contact centre from scratch,
with Salesforce integration offering full call flow, ACD
and routing capabilities.
The record attempt was undertaken at Call Centre and
Customer Management Expo on October 1, as part of a
workshop on creating a mobile contact centre.
Paul Turner, SVP Services at NewVoiceMedia, said: “This
demonstrates just what NewVoiceMedia is capable of. Gone
are the days when contact centres required acres of server
racks, switches, routers and computers. A cloud contact
centre provides a superior alternative to on-premise solutions
and can be deployed quickly, which means you are delivering
added value to your organisation as soon as possible”.

ShoreTel integrates mobile
devices with new software and
desktop dock
Unified communications provider ShoreTel is boosting
the productivity of iPhone and Android users with a new
software release, ShoreTel Mobility 7, and a new docking
unit that converts a smartphone/tablet into a desk phone
with business-grade audio, device charging and improved
ergonomics.
The software features a completely redesigned user interface
and simplified mobile integration. For example, the application
‘Today’ screen integrates with the native calendar on Android
and iOS platforms; the ShoreTel Mobility Client automatically
displays conference calls on the mobile user’s calendar, with
one click access to web and audio conferences; and a simple
‘Join’ button dials the conference call and enters the conference
code, freeing users from having to juggle apps while trying to
memorise numbers and PIN codes.
ShoreTel Mobility 7 also integrates with ShoreTel
Conferencing so that users can switch to the presentation view,
providing audio and visual participation, with a single click.
When a user launches a conference from a meeting invite, the
‘Call Me’ option opens ShoreTel Mobility, while clicking the link
launches the ShoreTel Conferencing app.
Personal dial support allows non-business calls to be placed
with the users’ cellular caller ID through the ShoreTel Mobility
app, eliminating yet another need to continuously switch back
and forth between voice apps.
