T-cards online
T-Cards Direct has developed a secure online
version of its manual work-flow monitoring
system that can be accessed from anywhere
in the world.
The system replicates classic Perpetual
Weekly Planner and Annual Board configurations
in a familiar column and row format and can
also be used to create customised designs.
Users can move cards around the board using
drag-and-drop techniques and add a project or
work card simply by clicking the Add t-card icon
in the menu.
Cards can be colour-coded; assigned key
dates, such as Assignment Month and End Month;
transferred from one board to another; and
searched for by card colour, title and subtitle.

Say goodbye to the paper
receipt
Paperless Receipts, whose eReceipts
software enables retailers to issue electronic
receipts direct to customers’ cloud-based
accounts, has struck a strategic partnership
with global payment company Cardstream.
The relationship will allow Paperless
Receipts to market its service to the 1.2
million customers who make transactions
through Cardstream merchants.
Paperless Receipts claims that eReceipts
makes life easier for consumers by enabling
them to store and log all their transactions
in the cloud; helps retailers by enabling them
to capture data about customers’ shopping
habits; and benefits business as it allows them
to monitor and collect employees’ expense
receipts in a single account.
Paperless Receipts has already established
partnerships with IBM Retail, which provides
35% of the UK’s EPOS systems.
Large colour display
simplifies e-document
workflows
Wacom is simplifying customer-facing
electronic document processes with the
introduction of a 10.1in colour LCD display
that enables users to view, fill out and
digitally sign documents on-screen.
The DTU-1031 with tethered digital pen
is ideal for banks, insurance companies, hotels
and retail stores that require clients to sign
documents at the counter or point of sale. The
large screen size lets users view A4 and letter-
size documents with minimal scrolling, while
an integral stand ensures it takes up little room
on the counter. The display can also be VESA-
mounted.
In addition to LCD pen display features,
including electronic signatures when used with
Wacom sign | pro software (amongst others), the
DTU-1031 can be used to display slideshows and
videos.

Synchronising online and
in-store pricing
Kiddicare is using ZBD e-paper to display
pricing in all of its UK stores. The use of ZBD
e-paper will enable the baby equipment
retailer to synchronise pricing and product
information across online and in-store
channels.
Since being acquired by Morrisons in 2011,
the online retailer has taken over the leases
of 10 former Best Buy stores and has plans to
open 10 more outlets this year.
Kiddicare chief executive Scott Weavers-
Wright said: “As a multi-channel retailer,
keeping store pricing in line with our website is
one of our biggest challenges. ZBD’s technology
removes the limitations of paper from the
equation, allowing us to deliver a seamless,
consistent experience to our customers,
however they engage with us.”
He added: “With ZBD’s fully graphic
displays, we can now add QR codes to the
shelf to provide additional information on
customers’ mobile phones or store assistants’
tablets. This information could include product
demonstrations, customer reviews or anything
else that will enhance the shopping experience.”

Digital alternatives to hard copy documents and processes
The UK’s most wanted
Northamptonshire Police are updating
the classicWanted poster with a free
smartphone app for iPhone, Blackberry and
Android devices.
The Facewatch ID App, already used by
police in London and Surrey, shows CCTV
images of people the police are seeking in
connection with an incident and need help
identifying. Members of the public can view
images for their area by inputting a postcode
and selecting a radius of up to five miles.
They then have the option to upload any
information they might have.
In the six months from June to December
2012, the Metropolitan Police received more
than 180 positive IDs through Facewatch ID.
Faces of wanted people are still posted on
the Northamptonshire police website at
www.northants.police.uk/justice.

Digital scorecards
Finland-based
Golf GameBook
and Samsung
have developed
the world’s
first digital golf
scorecard to support official
signing. The Golf GameBook app uses the
Samsung Galaxy II’s S Pen to enable players
to sign electronic scorecards just as they
would a paper one. The app is available in
Android and iOS versions.
