To simplify the transition to digital
dictation, Grundig has launched a Digta 7
Starter Kit featuring a portable recording
device plus everything a secretary needs to
transcribe files including a foot control for
playback, headphones and DigtaSoft One
software for the workstation.
One of the advantages of the Digta 7
device itself is that no software needs to be
installed on the user’s PC in order to transfer
dictation files. The user needs to input the
email address or network location of the
transcription station just once and thereafter
dictation will be transferred to that location
automatically as soon as the Digta 7 is
connected to the user’s PC.
Another useful feature for digital dictation
novices is an Easy Mode in which only buttons
for basic functions, such as record and delete,
are used.
With the addition of Grundig’s newly
launched DigtaW/LAN Adapter, which can be
connected to any Digta base station or to a
Digta device by USB cable, recordings can be
transferred to a transcription station wirelessly
or via a network cable without the need for a
PC connection.
In the summer, Grundig also launched a
Dictation Blue app for Android smartphones
(previously only available for Blackberry
devices). This lets you record dictation on a
smartphone and save it as aWAV file that
can be emailed or imported into DigtaSoft
playback and transcription software.
There are two version of the app: a free
one that can be used to make recordings of
up to two minutes; and a paid-for version
for recordings of up to 60 minutes. Both are
available from the Google Play Store.

Adidas trials hands-on
window shopping
Adidas is taking window shopping to a new
level with a touch-screen interface that
communicates with the smartphones of
passers-by.
On trial at the adidas NEO Label store-front
in Nürnberg, the interactive window interface lets
shoppers find out more about products on display
and drag details of any they are interested in into
their smartphone. There is no need to scan QR
codes or install an app to set up a connection:
all the user has to do is enter a URL and one-
time PIN into their smartphone. After that, any
product ‘dropped’ into the window’s shopping bag
instantly appears on the mobile. The shopper can
edit product details, save them or share them with
friends through social media and email.
The interactive window display can also be used
to interact with a life-size digital model showcasing
NEO’s fashion range. By touching hotspots on
the window, the shopper can make the model
demonstrate certain aspects of a product.
The adidas WindowShopping experience was
developed in co-operation with TBWAHelsinki, part
of the TBWAWorldwide network.

All-in-one mailing solution
Bringing greater productivity to businesses of
all sizes, Neopost has introduced an all-in-one
mailing solution for collating, folding, inserting
and sealing documents of all sizes.
It combines a DS-63 folder-inserter, which
replaces Neopost’s best selling DS-62 model
introduced in 2006, and OMS-100 v2 output
management software for the quick and easy
production of personalised mailings.
One of the most useful features of the software
is the printing of machine-readable optical marks
or barcodes that instruct the folder-inserter which
inserts to add to which envelope.

The big screen experience for
smartphone users
Thanks to a Mobile High Definition Link (MHL)
on AOC’s new 27in LED monitor, Android
smartphone and tablet users can display mobile
content on a large screen in full HD – and
recharge device batteries at the same time.
Ideal for small meeting rooms or desktop use,
the myPlay i2757Fm allows users to transfer high-
resolution (1080p) video and digital audio signals
via a micro-USB/HDMI cable and enlarge content
displayed on a mobile device to fit the 27” screen.
myPlay mirrors all content shown on an Android
device, making it suitable for displaying websites,
video clips, photos, calendars, PDFs, PowerPoint
presentations and other office documents.
The £240 monitor also connects to computers
or gaming consoles via an analogue D-sub port as
well as two HDMI ports and features integrated
speakers and a USB port for connecting flash sticks,
hard drives, digital cameras etc. to the computer via
the monitor.
Providing similar functionality to iPhone and
iPod users, the AOC myStage 23” Full-HD display
with integrated docking station allows users to
view videos and photos taken with an iPhone on
a large screen. It can also be used to play audio
thanks to two 5 watt SRS loudspeakers built into its
stand.
