This month Business Info has been testing the Olympus Tough TG-810. It’s the world’s frst 100kg crushproof camera. Billed as the ultimate indestructible camera, the Olympus TG-810 is also waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and scratch resistant.With a built-in manometer, unique three-sensor GPS & Electronic Compass and high-resolution and glare-resistant LCD.

This stylish camera would be ideal for business people who work in physical environments such as building sites, factories, manufacturing plants etc. due to its rugged exterior and “resistant” properties.

If you are already familiar with Olympus digital cameras then navigation of the various features will be relatively

easy. However, if you are “manual averse” as I am, then you may expect to get a little frustrated with the many features. Olympus have solved this problem with a helpful ‘?’ icon which when pressed explains the function and how it is used. Simple language and clear instructions makes this function very useful. My favorite function is the automatic panoramic mode which stitches images together and is really great to play with.

We didn’t try out Olympus’s crushproof credentials for the TG-810 but it certainly has that rugged feel without being industrial in design.

In summary, if you are looking for an all-rounder that can be used for business and pleasure the TG-810 will not disappoint.
