technologyreseller.co.uk 43 HOME GROWN Its fair to say that Home Grown has become a part of my routine when in town. Its an excellent and impressive place to meet clients and colleagues. The atmosphere and furnishings are conducive to work, whilst retaining a relaxed vibe. It’s also very good value for money with a balanced lunch menu in the restaurant and in-house coffee shop, something for everyone. Recently Home Grown invited Technology Reseller magazine to try a staycation. Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth A place to work and rest – Home Grown staycation my wife and I set off for a Saturday in town. On arrival we were greeted with little fuss. Our room was comfortable and very well furnished. I’ve been lucky enough to stay in a number quality hotels and the room was certainly in that bracket. In terms of location Home Grown is ideally placed for a stroll down Oxford Street. Some of London’s largest department stores and the impressive Bond Street with its globally recognised super brands are only a short 5 minutes walk away. As is Marble Arch Tube which is just Having recently joined as a member of Home Grown, the UK’s leading members club for entrepreneurs and the Tech Industry, I’m already a bit of convert. Originally I wasn’t sure how often I would use the club for meetings or a quick coffee in-between appointments. However, like a lot of things in life you don't know you need it until you either lose it or it enters your life! down the road from the club making an excellent gateway to and from. My tip for an afternoon tipple would be to head for Gee’s Court, a nick in the wall just past Selfridges. Blink and you will miss it but it takes you into Barretts Street and the excellent bars and restaurants in the area. Its worth walking in from the Gee’s Court entrance off Oxford Street as it feels like a bit of a secret. On the night we stayed at Home Grown there was a private function taking place that went on until about 1-ish. All good fun and it did not disturb our evening or nights sleep. One of the stand out features of the club is its staff. These are not your run of the mill hotel or bar employees. You really get the feeling that they like the place they work and this makes for great service. Both dinner and breakfast couldn’t be faulted – being well balanced in portion size for those of us that would otherwise overindulge. If you are looking for a home away from home in London, you could do a lot worse than Home Grown.
