There are no apps or extras to download as the hardware comes with embedded software which downloads as soon as you plug in the HDMI cable into your laptop mic and speakers for your laptop, then when you open a collaboration software package such as Teams or Zoom it uses the PressIT360’s device as the main input and output. All camera and audio options are controlled by simply using the options on the PressIT360 itself, one press and you can toggle through the different options for images. Five different video modes allow meetings to proceed with the camera layout best suited for communication. For example, by using Multi view, a green bar indicating the speaker is lit on the PC on the remote worker, making it easy to recognize the speaker. Remote working participants will be able to read the expressions on the office side of the room and know when to speak up. This simple solution allows all meeting room members to sit around the room in relative comfort and at a covid-safety distance rather than all bunching up on one side of a table, or by placing a camera some distance away to get everyone in the picture, ultimately diminishing the whole experience. The focus on the person speaking is automatically optimised according to the volume of speech and the length of the utterance. Focus may be delayed, or not performed, depending on the situation. Other key feature we really liked was the “noise cancellation” benefit – if there is background noise the software filters it out so the participants only hear the voice of the speaker. Great if you happen to be in a noisy environment or have building works going on. You could, if you wanted to, sit in the middle of some roadworks, put on a blurred background and as long as you could concentrate and hold a meeting – no one would be any the wiser!!
