Version 1’s 13th acquisition to date follows the announcement that it is setting up a tech hub in Newcastle Upon Tyne, bringing 200 new jobs to the area over the next two years and enhancing the region’s digital skills base through its Accelerate Academy. Evoco will become part of the company’s UK Digital, Data and Cloud practice, adding specialist expertise in service design and digital transformation for public sector organisations. Based in the North-east of England and with a headcount of 41, Evoco is led by five directors – John Dunnet, Chris Hewitt, Peter Stansbury, Steve Walton and Enda McCormack – who will remain with the business following the merger and become an integral part of Version 1’s growth plans. To date, Evoco has delivered £8 million in savings to 18 public sector customers across 52 successful projects. Version 1 CEO Tom O’Connor said: “Version 1 is growing rapidly across the UK public sector with customers such as Highways England, Ofgem, Ordnance Survey, Home Office and Harrow Council to name a few. This latest acquisition consolidates our position as a market-leader in delivering Digital Transformation across the UK public sector and further afield.” The purchase of Evoco follows that of the 400-person digital services specialist Neueda in June 2021 – Version 1’s largest acquisition to date – which grew the business to more than 2,000 employees across operations in the UK, Ireland, Spain and India, more than 500 customers and projected revenues of €200 million this year. www.version1.com inTEC makes first acquisition outside the UK Manchester-based inTEC Group has started 2022 with a bang, announcing its ninth and tenth acquisitions and its first outside the UK.
