01732 759725 NEWS : VENDORS 16 Brother UK has successfully retained its Investors in People (IIP) Platinum status, first achieved in 2016, improving its performance across all nine indicators, including empowering and involving people, recognising and rewarding high performance and creating sustainable success. Phil Jones MBE, managing director of Brother UK, said: “People are at the heart of our sustained business success and are our most important asset. That’s why this recognition means so much to us. By investing in our people, we’re able to give them the skills they need to help our channel partners succeed too. “Our position as a leading technology solutions provider is intrinsically linked to our status as a top employer, and the innovative approaches we take to both products and people. We know that it’s working because our employees stay with us, on average, for an industry-leading 13 years, which means there’s a huge amount of knowledge, expertise and loyalty within our workforce.” Investors in People estimates that just 0.5% of organisations could achieve Platinum status. In the last 12 months, Brother has also won a second Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development and a second Princess Royal Training Award. The company’s global DDoSX infeastructure uses complex algorithms and AI to analyse malicious online behaviour and defend organisations against the significant impact of DDoS attacks by absorbing traffic and filtering it away from the target’s server. It also provides clients with content delivery network (CDN) and web application firewall (WAF) services. UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones said: “The rise in the intensity and regularity of DDoS attacks in recent years is alarming. A decade ago we might have seen one DDoS attack a year. Nowadays, it can be three or four a day. The latest investment in DDoSX enables greater performance and resilience for clients, whilst giving us the capacity to absorb attacks of even greater strength. The new POPs are also strategically positioned to allow our CDN to deliver content at incredible speed to our clients’ end users around the world.” Resellers and white-labellers can take full advantage of DDoSX by means of a fully featured API. www.ukfast.co.uk ID verification via smartphone ReadID, the flagship software of Dutch company InnoValor, is being used by the Home Office to enable EU citizens to verify their identity by smartphone as part of the EU Settlement Scheme.
