Secure and versatile SSD Safexs launches a hardware-encrypted, multi- platform Solid State Disk Platform independent As standard, the Safexs range works across the latest Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems. The new Firebolt SSD also works with Android, Chrome, printers, thin clients and embedded systems. It is simple to use: the user just plugs the SSD into almost any computer or device with a USB port, types in a PIN number and they can then access and transfer the data. Any data transferred to or from the Firebolt SSD is automatically encrypted. A key market for the device is healthcare. The Safexs brand is already trusted within the NHS, which has purchased around 500,000 of its devices in the past. With this new product, healthcare workers can now protect data on all devices, including clinical equipment such as X-ray machines. Because Firebolt is platform independent, it has much broader appeal and is potentially useful for anyone who needs to transport and back up files containing sensitive information. For example, instead of sending a file containing confidential data across a network to a printer and holding it in a print queue, a user could put the file on a Firebolt SSD and plug it directly into the printer to output, reducing the risk of data being intercepted. Today, users don’t only access confidential data in the office. Business travellers and mobile workers who might regularly switch between different devices would also benefit from a data encryption product. The Safexs Firebolt is ideal: with its portable design, it is smaller than modern smartphones and even the original Nokia 3310 mobile, fitting easily into one’s pocket. With a variety of products and storage capacities, all designed and developed within Europe, Safexs offers something for everyone, from consumers and corporates to government agencies and healthcare. The addition of the Firebolt SSD to its portfolio of data encryption solutions means Safexs can now protect your customers’ data no matter what operating system it’s on. For more information, contact your VOW Account Manager. As the number of devices that users interact with each day increases, it becomes more and more challenging to keep data protected. The loss of confidential data has far-reaching ramifications for organisations, including damage to reputation, embarrassment and cost, especially since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect, which can result in large fines for organisations that fail adequately to protect data from loss or theft. Data encryption products are now a must when it comes to ensuring data integrity. Encrypting data at every opportunity reduces the risk of sensitive data ending up in the wrong hands. Founded in 2003, Swedish-based company CTWO Products AB is a manufacturer of USB and encryption solutions. The company operates out of a head office in Malmö, Sweden, with further offices in the United Kingdom and Shenzhen, China. Safexs, the security division of CTWO Products AB, has launched a new product that is designed to protect sensitive data from unauthorised access, and can be used on a multitude of devices. The new Safexs Firebolt SSD is a hardware-encrypted Solid State Disk with an alphanumeric keypad. The device offers strong AES 256 bit encryption in XTS-Mode and fast data transfer speeds of up to 200mb/s Read and 190mb/s Write. Its embedded keypad protects against hardware and software key logging attempts, while Brute-Force Protection prevents password-guessing attacks by resetting after five failed attempts. Firebolt features a robust aluminium design and is tamperproof, with an epoxy resin covering the internal components to protect against reverse engineering attacks. The device is available in 30GB, 60GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities, with 1TB coming soon. DATA SECURITY www.voweurope.com 05 TECHNOLOGY GUIDE
