Technology Reseller - v12 2018

01732 759725 08 NEWS : DISTRIBUTORS Tech Data helps retailers maximise online sales Tech Data is working with website specialist Citrus to help retailers maximise e-commerce sales by making better use of the space on their web pages. Citrus software performs detailed analysis of web traffic and identifies the areas of a website that are most effective for targeting specific groups of users or technologies. The software can also be used to provide more detailed information to vendors, helping them to target spending on partner websites to greatest effect.  Mark Glasspool, Director of Product Marketing and Sales at Tech Data UK’s Consumer Technology Group, said: “The Citrus proposition is a really juicy one for web retailers. It enables retailers to unlock the true potential of e-commerce by monetising their online shelf space, whilst enabling brands to target customers more accurately. It’s a very refreshing approach and one that will really help retailers to get ahead.” www.techdata.co.uk Still time to apply for WiFi grants, says Nuvias Nuvias is calling on resellers to encourage local councils to take advantage of EU grants for installing Wi- Fi in towns and cities. Rob Clark, Director of Technologies & Solutions Development at Nuvias, the EMEA distributor for Nokia, says that because of uncertainties over Brexit many councils are missing out on the E 120 million WiFi4EU grant fund. “This means that resellers, too, could be missing out on a great opportunity to get into the urban Wi-Fi market,” he said. Clark added: “While the UK remains in the EU, there is still time for local authorities to apply for a E 15,000 grant, but they need to do it as soon as possible. We are looking for a selected group of existing and new resellers to work with us to take advantage of this initiative and deliver Wi-Fi to UK councils.” www.nuvias.com Nimans HQ renamed in honour of founder Nimans has renamed its Manchester headquarters Julian Niman House in tribute to its former Chairman who passed away earlier this year. Julian’s wife Sue, who cut the ribbon at the official opening ceremony, said: “When Julian first started this company from a small office it was beyond his wildest dreams that it would ever grow into this size. But it’s more than just a building, as that’s just bricks and mortar; it’s the people that are in it and their lives that make it so special. Julian cared about everyone.” Julian, who helped build Nimans into a £125m turnover business, passed away at his Manchester home on January 12, aged 64. www.nimans.net Nuvias signs distribution agreement with Forcepoint Cyber security company Forcepoint has appointed value-added distributor Nuvias to help grow enterprise and SME sales in the UK and DACH (Germany, Switzerland and Austria).
