To date, 53 partners have enrolled on the programme, with 15 attaining Silver Cloud Competency and two achieving Gold status. Velocity Partners are allocated to a named Microsoft Solutions Architect and Azure account manager and have access to Marketing as a Service funds of as much as £10,000 per partner. John-James Uezzell, Tech Data’s Business Development Manager for Microsoft Azure, said: “We have a tried- and-tested formula for getting Microsoft resellers to the point where they are competent and confident in selling workloads for deployment on Azure and ramping up their consumption income. If they take full advantage of the training and mentoring available, they can move to Silver Competency quite smoothly and, from there, build on the platform of support that we provide as part of Velocity.” Tech Data is also encouraging Microsoft partners to move customers from Open Licensing programmes to the Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP) programme. CSP allows customers to flex user numbers up or down, ensures software and agreements are always up to date and requires no up-front investment in licenses. www.techdata.co.uk Nuvias to distribute Sennheiser headsets and conferencing products Value-added distributor Nuvias has signed an agreement to distribute Sennheiser’s Enterprise Solutions portfolio of personal communications, meeting and online conferencing products in the UK and Ireland. Steve Harris, EVP of Unified Communications at Nuvias, said: “Our customers will be interested in adding individual Sennheiser products, such as headsets, to their existing systems. And we will be bundling Sennheiser solutions with other products in our end-to-end UC range.” He added that while headsets will account for a big proportion of sales, resellers will also have access to conference room solutions, such as ceiling-integrated audio conferencing systems that use the latest beam-forming technology to automatically focus on the voice of the speaker. www.nuvias.com Tech Data customer hits £1 million credit line Tech Data, which recently extended its Credit Elevator scheme to a maximum of £1 million, has already seen one customer reach the new limit and several more come close. The Credit Elevator programme automatically moves resellers up from an initial credit line of £5,000, as long as 75% of the line is used within the month and payment is made on normal 30-day terms. Resellers can extend the line every month or move up to the next level when sales grow. Once a reseller has attained a £1 million credit line, Tech Data will renegotiate limits and Ts&Cs to ensure all their needs are being met. Nick Tiltman, Credit Services Director, said: “It’s great to see a reseller reach the top of the Credit Elevator so soon. It proves there is a need to make it easier for customers to grow their credit line without having to jump through the same set of hoops every few weeks. There are plenty more moving up the scale now, so we’d expect others to reach the top quite soon.” He added: “We’ve had a lot more dialogue and interaction on credit in the past three months. Resellers are facing new challenges around managing finance and we’re very happy to discuss options and work with them to find appropriate solutions that will work for everyone.” www.techdata.co.uk New Entanet CSR committee picks charities Wholesale connectivity provider Entanet has set up a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee to manage the company’s fundraising, volunteering, environmental impact and diversity and inclusion activities.
