01732 759725 NEWS : RESELLERS 18 Customer staging facility launched by avsnet Communication and collaboration solutions provider avsnet has launched a new staging facility and customer experience space to showcase its capabilities in collaboration, visual communications, audio visual, networking and managed services. The staging area allows companies to interact with their chosen technology before deploying solutions in their workplace. Graham Fry, Managing Director at avsnet, said: “We are delivering larger and larger projects. However, the desired outcomes are always the same – higher productivity, greater efficiency, lower costs and a unified workforce. Our new facility brings to life what’s possible with the solutions we offer – from collaborative workspaces and advanced visual communications, to flexible cloud video, intelligent networks and managed services that free businesses from the burden and cost of daily technology management.” In the last twelve months, avsnet has grown by more than 50% year-on-year, successfully delivering over 550 projects. www.avsnet.co.uk ITEC, Copyrite and Criterion have announced plans to merge their three businesses into a single company serving customers on the South Coast in Dorset and Hampshire, as well as nationally. The merger creates a powerful technology company with 3,500 existing customers, 300 staff and annual sales of £45 million. The combined company, which includes Copyrite’s wholly owned IT services subsidiary Criterion, will be known as ITEC from 25th June. ITEC is a provider of managed print, IT, VoIP and document capture technology; Copyrite is a total document solutions provider, offering managed print services, business software, IT managed services and web solutions. www.itecgroup.co.uk Merger for ITEC, Criterion and Copyrite IT entrepreneur to drive growth at Commercial Richard Blundell has been appointed IT Services Divisional Director at business services specialist Commercial. Blundell plans to double Commercial IT Services’ turnover in the next two to three years by strengthening the division’s disruptive messaging in the market, by reinforcing its existing position in the legal and education sectors and by developing opportunities in other data-centric industries, such as accountancy, financial services and retail. Blundell says he was attracted to Commercial because of its social and environmental credentials. He said: “There is an unmet need for managed service providers with a conscience. I am a personal advocate of ‘profit for good’ and can’t think of any business services company in the UK that addresses this more effectively than Commercial. When business leaders talk about IT developments such as cloud migration, they quite rightly focus on areas such as performance and security. But it’s also important to acknowledge and address the fact that workplace technologies are a major contributor of carbon emissions. Switching to a cloud- based model can reduce the number of power-hungry, inefficient machines in the office and we’re keen to talk to businesses who want to apply social and environmental filters to their technology purchasing.” www.commercial.co.uk Richard Blundell Steve Watts Pennine recognised as Avaya Cloud Specialist Pennine has achieved accreditation as just one of four Avaya cloud specialists operating in the UK. Pennine’s Sales Director Steve Watts said: “This is a significant achievement which further underlines Pennine’s expertise in the design and delivery of Avaya cloud solutions. It places us among a true elite, a status which will inspire even greater confidence in our capabilities within what is an increasingly important and fast-growing market.” www.wearepennine.com Wavenet acquires APR Telecoms Following the successful acquisition of Swains and Talk Internet in 2017, Wavenet has acquired APR Telecoms, a Norfolk-based provider of business communications solutions including telephony, data, VoIP and cloud.
