Mobile Printing
How do you make staff more
productive?
It is becoming increasingly
common for businesses to offer
flexible working hours.
It may seem counter-intuitive
to ask employees to spend fewer
hours in the office. However,
a flexible working culture can
actually increase efficiency as
well as reduce costs.
The norm of 9-5 office hours
is fast becoming an outdated
concept and workers are
increasingly required to work
from home, on the train, in a
hotel room or wherever their
work takes them.
The global mobile workforce,
which is set to hit 1.3bn in
2015,* is growing rapidly as
both employees and employers
recognise the benefits.
What are the benefits of
flexible working?
Increased creativity.
A mobile working culture allows
employees to work in the way
that suits them. We all know
that the best ideas come when
you’re least expecting them.
They don’t always pop up
when you’re sitting at a desk.
Working more flexibly gives

employees the space and time
to be creative, a skill which is
an absolute necessity for any
business to remain relevant.
Staff retention.
The chance
to work flexibly could be what
sets your business apart from
your competitors when it comes
to attracting and retaining a
talented, happy workforce.
Responsive workforce.
A flexible working culture
also means your business is

better equipped to deal with
unexpected issues – whether
that’s employees being snowed
in and being able to work
seamlessly from home, or issues
with delays on public transport
meaning that employees need to
work from a train carriage.
To make mobile working a
success in your organisation
it’s imperative that you
equip workers with the right
technology so they are able to
work collaboratively.
Our research reveals that
40% of businesses in the UK
operate a ‘bring your own
device’ (BYOD) policy. The
increasing consumerisation of
office technology means that
workers are using tablets and
smartphones to work on the
go, whilst sharing work through
a cloud network. Printers with
scan-to-cloud capability can be
used to facilitate collaborative
working, as flexible workers can
easily access documents from
wherever they are based.
However, this doesn’t offer
the complete functionality of
desk working. It’s important
to consider equipping workers
with key peripherals, too, from
portable printers to mobile
scanners (to create shareable
digital documents) so that they
can work as efficiently, or more
so, when at home or on the
move as they can in the office.
Once your organisation is
armed with the technology to be
flexible, the benefits are there
for the taking.
